Dr. David Buethe, MD

From the moment I entered and began my appointment, the office staff asked me for double my copay I wanted to walk out I knew I should have. Once in the room the staff member was pleasant enough as she interviewed me about my reasons for being there. She left about 5 minutes later loud laughter and voices were heard outside my room and in walks my doctor. Buethe he seemed to me very awkward and repeated the same questions that the nurse had just asked. Then performed a physical exam. The entire visit was about 7 minutes. Being a new patient in my opinion a doctor should get to know you find out more about, before just giving you a pill and sending you on your way. He had no idea if the medication interacts with my current medication or other medical conditions. I do not recommend this doctor and I will not be returning to this office. I did call my pharmacy to make sure that the new medication was safe because I didn’t trust it

He was part of Suncoast urology and he changed names and now refuses to see my husband because he was only seen by a nurse practitioner who did nothing for him and I was upset and told them and now they are refusing treatment for my husband they are not worth wasting your money on you need to find a legitimate urologist to get help we were also charged with a telephone where she kept telling me she was the doctor and I kept asking for help for him and she kept saying they couldn't do anything and then they called us 21 times when I refused to see the regular doctor when I found out she was only the nurse practitioner

The office staff and assistants were friendly, but it took a while to get in. The doctor was hurried and didn't display much or any empathy. I was told I had nothing interesting 'going on' and 'I was clean.' I wasn't impressed and know there are other doctors with better manners out there.

It’s been over a year and I’m still traumatized what this man did to me. Long story short, performed a cystoscopy when I didn’t need one. Had a history of utis and when to see him as my normal dr couldn’t get me in and I was referred to him by a friend who thought he could help in the interim. After the cystoscopy, I went home with immediate pain and bleeding. He returned my call only one time after me calling my friend asking if she could message him. He kept telling me it was just a reaction to the cystoscopy and to take some ibuprofen. I kept telling him something was wrong. That was the last I heard from this man. I ended up with two emergency room visits and by the 4 th day I couldn’t walk and was peeing straight blood. I was in so much pain I was finally admitted to the hospital with a massive infection. I was there 4 days and had to have it antibiotics. He never called me or the hospital back. They tried to reach him and he didn’t return their calls. Please stay clear.

Made an appointment more than a month out with Dr Buethe because he's close and his reviews were fine. Two weeks out, his office calls (Alison/Madison/Tammi?) and says he's got a conflicting appointment and they want to reschedule me for yet another two weeks out. Well, since I obviously had the first appointment, they must have decided that the new one paid more. When I said that timeframe was unacceptable, she offered a similar date, 12 miles further away at an unacceptable time. Sound like an airline? Overbooked? Throw them off. I guess we know their priorities. Follow the money; ditch the patients.

Ordered a CT scan and gave me a televist option to my followup!

told me he wanted to do bladder biopsy at hospital under general anestheisia because his scope could not reach the trigone area of mu bladder and that he thoug;ht cancer had spread all ove ladder and i needed chemo in bladder, a uretal sent..I DID NOT DO HAVE THIS PROCEDURE AND WAS SO UPSET THAT WATED 4 MON AND SAW TWO DOCTORS OUT OF COUNTY..IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 2 UEARS..THERE IS STILL NOTHING TO BIOPSY AND NO SPREAD OF CANCER AND I FEEL FINE AND THE DOCTORS OUT OF COUNTY WANTED TO KNOW WHO TOLD ME SUCH A THING. I WENT TO DR BUETHE JUST 7 MONTHS AFTER A CYSTOSCOPY.. THERE WAS NOTHING TO BIOPSY WHEN I WENT TO DR BUETHE. NO OTHER DOCTOR COULD FIND ANYTHING TO BIOPSY. FAND THE TRIGONE AREA IS AT THE BEGINNING OF BLADDER NECK..I AM A FEMALE AND SHORT. SCOPES FIT ALLS IZES. THIS WAS ABSURD. IN ADDITION, TWO OR SO WEEKS AFTER EXAM DR BUETHE WROTE ME A NASTY LETTER ACUSING ME OF TALKING BADLY ABOUT HIM TO ANOTHER UROLOGIST HERE. I HAD JUST MOVED TO NPR AND DID NOT KNOW ANY DOCTOR HERE AND HAD

Excellent doctor. Very thorough, answers all your questions, efficient office! Had my second visit the other day. Very very lucky to have found this excellent doctor. He takes his time to be sure he answers any questions you have. Staff is also very friendly and helpful.

This Doctor came in my room that I was in for 3 days waiting for surgery. He said" You should go to an out patient clinic .because I don't have time for you." He is rude and arrogant. He made my wife cry. I should have beat him with my cane.

Since I have bladder cancer I have been to many doctors but Dr. Buthe is by far one of the best. He always makes me feel very comfortable while I'm there and by the time I leave I'm not even thinking about the cancer!

Called 6 weeks in advanced to get an appt. they called me 2 days before appt to cancel. told me would be 3 weeks before I could get in. Made 2nd appt, 2 days prior to appt they called and confirmed appt only to call back an hour later to cancel. Can't the doctor make it to his appts or is he too busy playing golf. Waited 9 weeks for an appt only to be cancelled 2 times. was told they could never guarantee that any appt I made wouldn't be cancelled.

I am 66 years old and was referred to him by my GYN Doctor. I have never been so humiliated by a man who is there to help you. I would never recommend this man . And he didn't even have the courtesy of telling me he didn't want to do the pelvic organ prolapse surgery . I walked out of his office 8 days ago still waiting for them to call to set up the surgery. A very poor excuse for a doctor. I hope by reading this you will have second thoughts about him. I am seeing another urologist.

Dr Buethe is extremely thorough in all aspects of my exams and care. He's awesome!
