I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed in Florida, with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with people who have a variety of reasons why they are seeking help, from growing pains, and relationship problems to substance use issues. My primary work has been with individuals and their families as they navigate the challenges of mental health issues (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder) and substance use issues. My passion is assisting people to minimize the effects of these issues through learning coping strategies and then focus on building a balanced life that protects them from future crises. I believe that each client I work with has their own strengths, ones that in the face of their problems have been overshadowed or buried. Biography: Hi! My name is Tammy. I am a licensed mental health therapist in Florida (US) with a positive and hopeful outlook! I have over 20 years of counseling experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, family conflicts, coping with grief and loss, parenting issues, social behavior, and crisis counseling. As well as trauma related issues, sexuality and work related concerns. I have a sense of humor and maintain a hope for the future. It is an honor to work with another person, to gain their trust and help them figure out what's going well, what is causing concern or distress, and to help them find small steps toward a resolution and personal growth. The first few sessions start out with a person-centered therapy approach. However, the information collected in the first few sessions may lead to a better suited theory. I feel that issues like depression or anxiety can be helped with cognitive behavioral therapy. CBT has also been great when working with adolescents who struggle with aggression and conduct disorders. I find dialectical behavior therapy techniques to be useful in a counseling setting as well. My counseling style and approach really depends on the client and what best fits the situation. Person-centered therapy, CBT, and DBT have been my main approach and style. My clients typically meet with me once weekly for 45 minutes. We begin by building rapport and learning about the issues that brought them to seek counseling. It is important to establish a trusting, ethical, therapeutic relationship by form of congruence, unconditional positive regard, and empathy in the beginning. Sometimes a person-centered approach leads the client to discover the answers for themselves. My counseling style is primarily Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Brief Solution Focused Therapy so we can develop a plan to help you feel better as soon as possible. Most of the time you will have "homework", which will allow you to identify core beliefs and change the way you feel. We can do short extra sessions during the week, especially during your first month or two, to be sure you have a good foundation for getting your goals met. Whether you are seeking change for a healthier happier life, or just need a non judgmental ear to listen, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you! Getting to know yourself, take good care of yourself and live well day to day creates more of an ease in life, and affords you time and a place to resolve deeper issues or past trauma.

Biography: Hi, my name is Connie Owens and I am a licensed therapist with more than 20 years of experience in helping others. During these 2+ decades, I have obtained a medical license to practice in multiple states and learned that while being evidence-based trained is helpful it is better to be evidence-based informed. It is a fact that we are each unique and that what works for one may not work for another. That is why I utilize a Holistic Approach; I fully understand that to heal the whole you, we must treat the whole you. In all facets of therapy, we will address the 4 human interdependent parts; Mind, Body, Soul, and Spirit. I have experience in various areas from birth-death (or Hospice). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist with several years of experience in helping others overcome trauma. And, it is hard these days not to mention trauma without discussing Narcissistic Abuse, which I also specialize in. I have helped hundreds of women and men not only break free from Narcissistic Abuse but also break the cycle so it does not happen again. Additionally, I also have many years of experience in Christian Counseling, Substance Use Disorders, Relationship Issues, Grief and Loss, Mental Health, Individual Therapy, and Group Therapy. More recently (although I have implemented these principles all along) I have wrapped up my Certification in Functional Nutrition and can now add to my resume that I am a Board Certified Holistic Mental Health Practitioner. Nutrition is only 1 area of focus with me. Your mental health is affected by everything you are exposed to so together we will address those things and come up with a plan that works for you so you can live your best quality of life. My approach is gentle, yet direct. I will always meet you where you are and respect all of your beliefs and values. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My overall treatment approach is a Holistic Approach that utilizes CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing, and Biblical Principles and Truths for those looking for Christ -Centered Therapy- AKA an Eclectic Approach. It takes courage to ask for help and commit to make changes, to improve your quality of life. I get that, so when you're ready I am here to empower you in your healing journey by supporting you and teaching you how to do it. One thing I'd like you to remember is-If you put in the work you will get the results.

Care Philosophy: Talkspace partners with care providers who find satisfaction in providing therapy in a way that prioritizes the client's convenience and preferences. Because all therapy takes place virtually, through messaging, live virtual sessions, or both, providers can communicate more frequently and casually in comparison to traditional face-to-face therapy. Talkspace treatment methods are supported by scientific research and are committed to non-judgmental care that is inclusive and respectful of cultural and other identities. Talkspace patients are matched with the best provider for them based on their needs and availability during the registration process. Once matched with a provider, patients may change at any time, and may contact support to request a specific provider. *The above is attributed to Talkspace and not the provider.*
