Dr. Rafael Mollega Jr, OD

I mentioned my blurry vision at 20 ft. and he said that’s what binoculars are for! There was a rude tone in his voice acting like I’m stupid. I found another Dr. immediately.

Efficient and good care

I have given this office so many chances. I’ll start with my first experience. I had an exam for contact lenses, I’ve had trouble getting comfortable with the lenses in. So Dr Mollega gave me a week supply of daily lenses to try. After two days of feeling like I couldn’t see, I went in to make sure they got the script correct. His staff was so rude, and they made me feel like an idiot. Someone finally realized they switched up my script and left and right sides were mixed up. I understand accidents happen — but how they handled it was unprofessional. This is all a reflection on the staff, not necessarily on the Doctor. However, I do believe this sort of behavior starts at the top. The culture in this office is very condescending. Also — important to note — His office is requiring vaccine cards, in order to not wear a required mask.

I would not recommend Dr Mollega. My experience has not been a good one. Too many staff telling me different things (with the exception of Kate - who is the only sound person there). I mainly go there for an annual eye exam and expensive readers. I always felt it was mostly about the money with this practice. A mono lens was an option for me but I was not comfortable with the experience yet they were always trying to sell me a new supply of lens without explaining any alternatives/options.

I have a rare condition that causes me to have double vision and dr. Mollega and his staff have been very knowledgeable and accommodating with my eye care needs. Love these guys!
