It’s been about 2 years since I went to this office. After sharing my experience with people in my personal life since then, a lot of them advised me that I should report what exactly went on. I wanted to make an appointment with Dr. Tanyel. Her schedule was full so they referred me to Joe Kollar (he was the CRNP at the time) in the same office. His schedule had availability so I let them know that’s fine I will make an appointment with him because I just want to get a referral for a different neurologist in the area (due to epilepsy which is important for this review) My current neurologist was too far of a drive and I wanted to use this office as my new primary doctor. So I proceed to schedule an appointment with Joe. I’m not 100% sure what exactly Joe took me as, but he sent me to Labcorp next door for blood work. I didn’t think anything of it. However, when the technician that was drawing my blood asked why I was getting a full drug screening done, I was pretty shocked to say the least. Why? I’ve never had this done anywhere else before as a new patient? So I called the doctors office and asked the very first person that answered the phone. She told me she did not know new patient policies but it did sound “kinda weird” so she had the office nurse come to phone since Joe was in an appointment. The office nurse gets on the line and said with no hesitation, “no that is absolutely not our new patient policy, I have no idea why he would have had that done.” At this point the office nurse goes to track him down, now somehow he’s all of a sudden available. Joe gets on the line and I ask him why exactly he had a full drug screen ordered as part of my blood work, and that according to the nurse I just spoke to that is not your policy for new patients. He went to straight anger when I questioned this. Saying, “They ( I’m assuming the nurse) have no idea what they’re talking about!” He never did give any reason or answer to my original question. It seemed to really anger him that I was questioning why this was done. Now listen to this part, he then says “You know what? I think I’m going to submit a license recall form.” So for those that don’t know, if you or your doctor report seizures, your license gets recalled. I had mine recalled for 6 months 2 years prior to this, so I’m very familiar with how that works. I had not reported any to him I just wanted a referral. For one, he’s a glorified nurse, I need a specialist for epilepsy. Therefore, there would be zero reason to explain anything about this condition to him. Clearly I wasn’t too concerned with that threat knowing he’s not the actual MD, he can’t sign off on those recalls. So I just saw it as an empty threat. Well fast forward less than 2 weeks, I get a license recall letter from the state. I look to see which doctor put in for this and it was DR. TANYEL!! The one that I had never met. So yes, the doctor I had never met had one of my rights pulled without even laying an eye on me. To this day I have all of the paper work to prove this!

No compassion
I moved here from out of state and needed to get a pcp and referrals to specialist. I have a lifelong illness that causes cancer and inflammation and have been prescribed numerous meds including a low dose narcotic pain med for many years, he immediately said he didn't think I should be on it and wouldn't prescribe it and told me I would have to go to a pain management doctor. I explained I have a hard enough time affording the 4 other specialist I'm required to go to, as I live off disability. He didn't care and was more interested in preaching to me, plus on the way out I was handed a stack of paper referrals that I was told I had to call to set up appointments, ive never had to do that in all the doctors I've been too, plus half the numbers were outdated. This guy is a joke and shouldn't be in the medical field other than maybe a janitor at a hospital. Thanks for making me suffer
