Dr. Charles Howell Jr, OD

Most thorough doctor out there! Loves his work and applies all of his years of experience to your needs. I have seen him for 40 years. I have flown back to florida just to see him. He knows his stuff.

I originally went to a big eye clinic in San Marco with what turned out to be a piece of fiberglass insulation in my eye. The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. After 9 to 12 visits I demanded that they find what was in my eye and remove it. I had to do the diagnosis. They looked more closely and found the fiberglass. I had bouts of uveitis (reaction to the irritation) for years afterwards. I went to Dr. Howell for treatment. His exams were far more thorough than at the other eye clinic. I also received disappointing care from a big eye clinic in Orange Park. Dr. Howell would spend several times longer examining me eye than at the other clinic. He's a perfectionist. The other people were not. If I'd have gone to him first I wouldn't be suffering with a semi permanent eye disorder. I've been to him several more times for other problems and have always received the same thorough perfectionistic care.

Dr. Howell showed sincere concern for my eye sight issues. He is attentive and very pleasant natured. I would recommend him to anyone. When his staff sings his praises you can bet he is genuine.
