This was a telehealth conversation through the BetterHelp app. I was paired with her and attempted to send a message but it wouldn’t go through because my account wasn’t set up properly. She is able to see I have a message waiting to send so she reached out saying that she was there for me if I need help. Comforting right? Wrong. After getting my account set up properly, I send her my message about what’s going on and 12 hours later her response is that she is not accepting new patients and that BetterHelp must have made a mistake and wished me luck. This app is for people with mental health problems. I was struggling in the moment and could have really used someone to talk to, but instead she dismisses me and my issues and passes me along to someone else so I can be their problem. If you weren’t accepting new patients, Allison, why did you tell me you were there for me if I needed help? She is very insensitive and truly doesn’t care unless it benefits herself.
