Dr. Gu ruined my life. After being treated effectively for lupus/inflammatory arthritis by UCSF Rheumatology, I went to Dr. Gu when my insurance switched to Kaiser. Looking at my negative labs and general decent health, she took me off all my medications. Soon enough, my symptoms came roaring back. When I told her what was happening, she refused to believe it could be inflammatory or autoimmune. She pushed me to dermatology. Despite my efforts to be seen and treated by her, she refused and kept pushing me to dermatology. When I did see the dermatologist (something I had already done previously and ruled out) he told me I needed a rheumatologist. During all that time, my symptoms kept worsening.I had to start over from scratch with a new Rheum who put me back on the same drugs as the previous Rheum. My entire experience w. Dr Gu was a waste of time where I regressed and suffered needlessly. She is condescending and a gaslighter.
