Truly sickening
Belittling and controlling. Unsure if particularly upset by women and minorities, but carries an air of superiority which leaves a nasty impression overall. Will silence you and generally treat you as though you should speak when spoken to. Many of the nurses and techs at this hospital try their best, and are really above and beyond, but it only goes so far when a single remark from this egomaniac control freak can have you staying indefinitely. Literally the stuff of nightmares and horror movies, he will string you along until you are a model minority. Whatever you do, don't tell him the truth or expect any empathy. It is enforced control in lieu of treament. If you are compliant, you are cured. They give you a survey before you leave so they can keep you if it reads unfavorable.

When I went to Spring Harbor in 2015, it was because I called crisis on myself due to feeling suicidal. Some time later - I don't know exactly when - my mother (who was extremely abusive) spoke to the doctors at Spring Harbor, and told them that I had delusional beliefs (none of which I actually held). When I saw the medical team in charge of my treatment, it was Dr. Brennan who told me - with the smuggest grin I've ever seen in my life - that I was delusional. He didn't even inform me of what the alleged delusions were, nor try to confirm whether or not I actually believed any of them, and he blamed Adderall abuse (which wasn't happening), preventing me from ever getting it again. I had to find out what the delusion was two weeks later when I got my copy of the white paper. When I tried to tell the medical team that I didn't believe any of what was on the document, I couldn't get in touch with them. He then put me on Haldol, which caused irreversible damage to my brain.
