Amazing doctor, one of the best!
The doctor was extremely talented, excellent bedside manner, and always answered all of my questions and was straight honest and I truly trusted him. He performed an amazing operation and I'm 100% please with the results. I was nervous when looking for a doctor for my surgery on my lower back (thoracic spine surgery), he thoroughly explained what needed to be done and was able to convey to me in a way that I could understand and put me at ease to continue with the surgery. I 100% recommend him for your spinal surgery needs.

Dr. Patel and his staff did excellent job. He came highly recommended for another Orthopaedic surgeon due to expertise and technique in spinal fusion. My husband had surgery in November and I had surgery in April and we are amazed with the results. We highly recommended Dr. Patel to our friends and family or anyone with spinal problems.

Second Chance At Life!
Between Jan-Apr 2021 I began losing my balance, leg strength and the ability to walk. The MRI showed that I had severe arthritis inside the spinal canal combined with some herniated discs that had compressed my spinal cord in some places down to 1mm in my thoracic spine. I saw a different doctor for a consultation and was referred to Dr. Patel because he had the experience to work on this extremely rare condition. My surgery was more emergency than planned but Dr. Patel made himself available to answer all of my questions before the procedure date. He performed a laminectomy and fusion from T4-T10. Throughout the process he treated me with empathy, kindness and was reassuring. Spinal trauma and major surgery are never complication free, and I had to do my part in therapy to recover. It has taken a year and a half, but I no longer use a cane, I can do jumping jacks, planks and even lift weights at the gym. I feel like I have a second chance at life, and I am grateful!

On Friday November 4th,2022 , at 5:00am my mother had went in for a procedure a Anterior Cervical Discectomy (ACDF) at the Baylor Scott and White hospital / facility in Irving,Tx with Dr (Vishal C. Patel) As she went in for her procedure the Doctor had cut her main carotid artery that is the main source of blood and oxygen flow to her brain and she had lost a-lot of blood and went into a stroke. Prior to her procedure they told my mom that the procedure was only going to take 2 hours tops later ended up being several hours than expected. As my father waited in the waiting room to be called back to see her. Doctor Vishal C.Patel took a while to call or notify him to go back. Doctor Vishal C. Patel came out and finally notified my father about the "accident" HE had made to my mother and kept apologizing. My father was upset and couldn't look him in the eye. Later that evening around 10:00pm my mother was transferred to Baylor Scott and White in Downton Dallas and is now in critical condition and not doing so well, is currently on a ventilator. Dr Vishal C. Patel had the audacity to walk in to my mothers room and apologize, but an apology that didn't sound convincing or caring. He stated that this is one and million cases and rare to happen. But why did it happen to my mother ? We are really disappointed in Dr Vishal C. Patel and that there is nothing they can do. If anyone decides to get a procedure done with any doctor please do your research prior to your procedure so nothing happens like this again!

Dr Patel has been working with me for a year now. I first went to him with a severe herniated L4/L5 disc. He explained all the pros and cons of surgery. A month or so after my surgery my recovery plateaued. I was one of the 4 out of 5 people who re-herniate after surgery. Plus I ruptured a muscle in my back. Dr Patel requested a second MRI and found the problem. After the second surgery. My constant back pain from walking is gone, and some of my nerve issues are already showing improvement just 4 weeks after surgery. Dr Patel is very kind. He'll do everything in his power to help you get better. If you have questions, he will answer honestly and directly. I would definitely recommend him to any of my friends and family.

Dr. Patel is simply the best. I have had a herniated L4/L5 for a long time. After visiting several Spine specialist in Dallas (all treat you like an Assembly line) Dr. Patel actually took the time to explain what he could do and how he could do it. His entire staff has his same "the patient matters" attitude. I knew I was in good hands when I got to the hospital for a microdiscectomy when two different nurse said, "you are lucky you got Dr. Patel, he is the best". I agree!

After a few years of on and off back problems my back really went out. I was in too much pain to work and could barely walk. Dr Patel looked at my Xrays and saw the problem a severely pinched nerve. He recommended XLIF surgery, seems like most people who have had back surgery say I wished I hadn't had it. but I am glad I did. From day one after surgery the pain was gone. There was soreness and stiffness after a surgery but that has been getting better and better. I'am back to work and feel great. Dr. Patel and his staff have been a pleasure to work with
