Dr. Garay canceled 4 appointments that I had scheduled with her for reasons varying from the flu, running very late, being summoned into court (this is not a thing you find out about day of), and no reason at all. 3 of the 4 happened one after another over the course of a 6 week period. She is not reliable and I would not recommend her.

I had been seeing Dr. Garay for several years and liked her very much. Then she cancelled 4 appointments in a row (car trouble, flu, sick kid, flu). Her office never called to reschedule even though she told me that she would personally reschedule my appointment. She is way to unreliable. Find a different doctor.

I have seen FOUR separate psychiatrist over the years, every other Doc wanted to throw pills at me, attempting to get the 'right mix.' None of them actually getting to know me and my specific issues/needs. Dr. Garay takes the time to REALLY understand her patient. I have recommended her to three friends which agree. She actually knows me better than I know myself. A my psychiatrist should, after all that's why it takes a minimum of 12+ year in school to obtain a license! Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Garay did not inform all of her patients of her medical leave earlier in 2016. I learned about her leave of absence from their answering machine. This was so abrupt that it left me no time to prepare. I went off my medication involuntarily multiple times because the office never answers the phones/call back in time or at all. I wasn't able to communicate and get my refills on time. This went on for months. Extremely difficult to contact unless you drive up to the office! Would not recommend.

Dr. Garay is the first doctor that I have ever gone to who truly truly listens, cares and knows what she is doing. I have gotten better since I started going to Dr. Garay. I feel safe and comfortable in her office. I don't trust any other doctor. I will be moving to Lubbock in a few months and I will drive to Austin every 3 or 4 months for my appointments.

Dr. Garay is very present in her sessions. I have been to therapists who do not appear to really be listening which is not the case with Dr. Garay. I think that she is an exceptional person with good clinical skills.
