Thorough and Thoughtful
My first impressions are:1) Front Office staff is very efficient wit ha good balance of being friendly. Eye contact, addressed me by name and accommodated my early arrival. 2) The person who walked me to the examine room introduced himself, asked how everything was going and exchanged a little chit chat while entering my information. 3) Dr Patel is great. He is thorough, quite respectful of patient wishes and engages with recommendations; not talking at, but talking with me. He took his time and didn't leave until every question I had was answered. There was no rushed feeling. He seems to want to treat root causes rather than symptoms which I am all for. I will be returning based on my initial experience.

  • I felt respected
  • Listened & answered questions
  • Staff friendliness
  • Appointment wasn't rushed
  • Trusted the provider's decisions

Non-strategic; lacking in true thought power.

I seemed to have more expertise and ideas on how to treat my own issues than he did. Very disappointing. Seemed ok taking a very non-strategic approach to diagnosis and treatment.

Repeatedly cancels appointments
Both my wife and I have noticed a dismissive attitude about concerning spots. He told my wife, who has had numerous basil cell spots, that a spot she was concerned about was nothing. She went to another dr who biopsied it and found it was basil. Dr's are imperfect and fallible, so an occasional miss is to be expected. But this Dr. has repeatedly canceled appointments on my wife, weeks after booking them. It takes months to get an appointment. Occasional cancellations are also to be expected, but this has happened 4 times in the past year. This has caused significant delays in identifying new skin cancers and receiving care. We are seeking a new doctor. I do NOT recommend Dr. Patel. I hope you read this, Dr. Patel, and get your office in order!
