Dismissed my concussion symptoms
The reason I'm writing this now is because my doctor retired and I've been assigned this doctor instead. In 2014, I suffered a concussion and a severe neck injury that is still being treated to this day. I saw Dr. Alapati in an emergency situation. My fingernail beds were blue, I was slurring my words, had extreme dizziness, and had tingling on the left side of my body. After reviewing everything, she said perhaps this car accident was too much for you. I responded that in my life, I have had much worse traumatic experiences, like a child with a brain tumor, and another child coding in my arms at the hospital. So, what does Dr. Alapati write in her notes? Patient says she has had far worse symptoms. Why did this matter? This was a work comp case and her notes on my medical record diminished my experience and my credibility. Maybe she was having a bad day. But for me, she made an already terrible and scary experience for me and my family much worse than it had to be.
