Inconsistent Treatment depending on Treating Nurse
I visited in May for an iron infusion & had a terrible reaction & they had to turn the machine off. I went back in Nov. & had an awful reaction again & 2 of the 3 prior nurses from May were not there. 2 of them were indifferent to my pain & reaction. A 3rd one observed I was in distress & approached & asked whether a steroid would help. She then had an order for a steroid & the onsite pharmacist provided it very quickly. I’m concerned that this type of treatment is not uniformly provided and you’re at the mercy of who is working or treating you that day. They seem to have a lot of regulars & I noticed they seem to get better care than unfamiliar faces. For the record, I was sick all day after my iron infusion in May & I had a much better experience after being administered the steroid on my 2nd visit. This office needs uniformity in training or patient treatment because my 1st experience caused me to be reluctant after returning.

Complete trust in Dr. Priego
I was referred to Dr. Priego after visiting two other oncologists who left me feeling confused about my diagnosis of multiple myeloma and uncertain that I needed treatment. Within moments of meeting Dr. Priego, he had explained, in a way I could understand and with great kindness, what was going on and why I needed treatment urgently. I started treatment immediately and have been closely monitored by him for the last three years. Despite Dr. Priego's extremely busy schedule, he always makes me feel that I am his only patient and that he cares about all of his patients as if they were his own family. I feel extraordinarily fortunate to have him for a doctor. I also have appreciated the kindness and efficiency of staff in the lab and especially in the infusion center.

Excellent and caring!
I’ve been a patient of Dr Priego’s for over 3 years. Luckily, I am in complete remission from multiple myeloma for over 2 years. He follows my health history and lab results very closely. Just 2 days ago, at my every-3-months visit I told him about 2 recent unfortunate falls I had on vacations in Europe and in NY. The Europe fall required hospitalization overnight for observation — a brain scan showed 2 small bleeds. Then, not long thereafter, I had another fall in NY. Did not have any medical follow-up but was quite bruised. My family doc ordered a CT scan of my brain and face. During my visit with Dr Priego, hearing that I did not have the results yet, he called The Radiology Center and had them faxed pronto and were negative. This was important as the results could have affected the course of my treatment. This is just the most recent example of Dr Priego’s care. I could give many more., i.e., I credit him with saving my life shortly after my cancer diagnosis in April 2021.

Nightmarish experience
I am a physician so typically am very reluctant to leave negative reviews, because I know the challenges that we face in trying to please everybody. But our experience with Dr. Priego was egregious. My father was admitted with COVID related ITP, with a platelet count of 2000. This is extremely rare and life-threatening. Dr. Priego was the hematolgist on call that afternoon, and did not come in to the hospital to check a smear before making any treatment decisions. He did not call me to inform me of the treatment plan. When I tried to reach him through the operator later that day, I was put through to the hematologist on-call, who was not even signed out my father's condition. He was completely unaware that he was even on his service. I did not meet Dr. Priego except by chance, when I managed to catch him while making quick rounds 2 days later. It is hard to feel that he is a caring human being. Perhaps inpatient hematology is not his preference, but this is unacceptable.

highest recommendation for Dr. Priego
I love Dr. Priego. I've been seeing him for 12 years in both Bethesda & Germantown. Both offices have professional staff & are very efficient. Dr. Priego treated me through 2 pregnancies. I feel like I'm going to visit my dad when I see him. He cares that much. I have always felt that he is so incredibly caring and open. He really listens & cares. Of all my doctors, he is my favorite. Excellent clinician too! I give him the highest recommendation! I've never had to wait long.

I called at 423pm, waited 7 minutes, got told twice by reception I was in line and to hold and then bang on 430pm they just cut me off. Terrible service and deliberate. Why are people so rude? I am clearly not ringing for fun and expected to wait but did not expect to be cut off so rudely. Sod u! Will spend my money elsewhere...

I wish I could give him ZERO stars! Horrible experience. He treated my father 3 years ago and we left his practice bc he was very condescending. He decided to dismiss my father from the practice because he basically told my father he was cured of cancer and when I asked his surgeon he basically told us that this was completely incorrect. So Dr Priego with his big ego because he was questioned decided to dismiss my father. He had the audacity to say it was a language barrier that my father misunderstood. That was completely false. I was in the room during the appointment when he told my father IN SPANISH! So definitely no language barrier there. It was basically a lie to try to cover his tail. We finally went to an oncologist who actually cared and wasn’t pompous. Shame on you Dr Priego. I will never recommend him to anyone. Worst. Doctor. Ever.

H e is the BEST doctor in town. I have been under his care since 1991 and Imam very pleased. He cares and he really feels your pain and sorrow. Those negative reports meant nothing to me or to anyone who really needs a professional ONCOLOGY DOCTOR. Thanks, GOD for Dr. Victor Priego.

For nearly 10 years, my husband, David, or I have been a patient of Dr. Priego for a number of conditions. Throughout those years, we have found him to be a very capable and compassionate physician. He is currently treating me for the recurrence of a rare and difficult to manage cancer. My case is complicated by the fact that I am also a transplant recipient. I absolutely trust him to work with my transplant doctors to coordinate my care, in hopes of achieving the optimum outcome.

Horrible doctor who likes to sit super close, but not say anything. He literally sat almost nose to nose with me, staring at his notes each visit… only to say “you’re doing fine”… NO details, no breakdown of what my results meant, literally nothing… took lots of probing on my end to get any answers at all. I have since stopped going to this person; I found an amazing doctor who helped me understand my condition, and why I have it in the first place. Dr. Priego offered no such thing!

Astonished that this individual would remove my father from his treatment plan for "inappropriate behavior" because my father voiced his opinion to his staff. Which wasn't aggressive or inappropriate at all. When you make a verbal-to-verbal agreement to only be seen by a specific doctor, you abide by it. Instead he sends his NP's to check on my father without even informing beforehand or bothering to check this lungs with a stethoscope, a simple standard procedure.
