Refused evidence based treatment for flu
Refused to prescribe evidenced based anti-viral influenza drug when I had a positive flu test and was symptomatic. His visit notes don't mention that I was positive for flu and that other members of my household were positive and being treated...he charted 'upper respiratory infection, unspecified' There was no treatment plan, he only charted to follow up with urgent care if symptoms worsen. I have the flu, I'm calling MD Live because A) I don't feel like sitting for hours in urgent care when I have a positive home test and B) why would I want to expose others at urgent care to Flu? The purpose of telemedicine is to increase access to care, not create barriers. He was rude and disrespectful. He is the reason people don't trust doctors and avoid seeking treatment when needed.

Rude and unhelpful
I had a virtual visit via MDlive with this doctor. I paid to talk to him only to be told to go and visit my pcm to receive treatment. I felt extremely rushed by him, I only got to talk to him for less than 4 minutes (which was because I kept trying to keep the conversation going) and he insisted that I had other symptoms such as body aches which wasn’t even mentioned by me at all! I literally just had a sore throat and maybe a bit tired. Worst experience ever! I feel completely robbed!

Only in it for money
Rushed the appointment and didn’t listen. Prescribed an OTC nasal spray and cough suppressant. When asked why am I coughing up greenish-yellow phlegm, he told me “if the mucous stays in for awhile it will change colors”……yes that’s called an infection.

Wasted my time on a virtual visit . Forgot to send in my prescriptions so I had to track it down and waste more time. Ended up finding out one of the prescriptions was not covered by my insurance after all that. Completely useless.

Doesn’t listen- misdiagnosed
This man should not be practicing medicine. He rushes appointments, is rude and has a complete disregard for what his patients are telling him. He tells you to get over the counter medications which you are taking and offers no help. He’s awful!! Stay away!!

Misdiagnosed sinusitis when I had acute bronchial
I had a lung infection/bronchitis with heavy, thick mucus and tiny blood specks. No cough. The "doctor" & I talked about a steroid. #1. He did not sign the scripts so I went an entire day with 0 meds. #2. The fax request from my pharmacy to him went unanswered. I had to call the 888# to get the prescriptions signed and pushed through. Then, only an inhaler was available. So, day 2 w/o the proper meds. #3. I get the meds, and he only gave me a nasal spray for sinuses. Now, I have developed a cough, and more heavy mucus. Getting worse. I called back and requested a z-pack or prednisone. He refused to even consider and had no regard for my health. His reply "Go to a doctor." Hmmm. I requested a refund through BCBS for his lackluster services. I saw another doctor today who instantly diagnosed bronchitis with an antibiotic on the way. I would not recommend Dr. Effiong to anyone.
