Dr. Urvi Gonzales, MD

I've been going to her since Integrated Dermatology took over Dr. Horn's practice. Over the years Dr Gonzales has become less interested and always in an extreme hurry. This year I had an issue, I saw her returned for a follow up which I incorporated with my yearly check up, she barely gave me the time of day. So, I am getting my medical records and I'm finding a new dermatologist because I am still having the issue I saw her for twice.

I have moderate to severe psoriasis and went to two other dermatologists before finding Dr Gonzalez. She is wonderful - friendly, calm, and patient and always spends a long time with me. I never feel hurried. My psoriasis has been difficult to treat, but Dr Gonzalez has worked hard to find a combination of treatments that work for me. She is also honest about the treatments she thinks might or might not help. Psoriasis is a difficult condition to live with, so it really helps to have an excellent medical partner. I feel lucky to have found her.

Waited for over 3 months for an apptmt with Dr. Gonzales. My daughter has Down Syndrome & was experiencing hair loss/scalp issues. The Friday before the Monday apptmt, office called cancelling the appointment because my daughter had Medicaid. MY DAUGHTER HAS MEDICARE; MY DAUGHTER HAS BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD FED GOVT INSURANCE AS SECONDARY; and, yes, Medicaid as a last insurance. I understand many doctors do not accept Medicaid, but we have TWO OTHER INSURANCES to bill prior to Medicaid. Office Manager, Selena, just would not budge. I am beyond frustrated with this office's lack of understanding when Medicaid is not primary insurance. I wrote a letter to the doctor, but never received a reply!

My visit to the office was pleasant, the staff were friendly and professional. The problem I had was the follow-up with Dr. Gonzales, I called her three times to speak directly with her regarding my results, not once did she return my call. Her assistants said they would give her the message to call and I am still waiting on a return call from her. I feel as though if you're cutting on a person, the doctor should at least have enough concern or bedside manner to return a simple phone call. Because of this it made me question the whole visit including the medicine that was prescribed to me. I am now seeking a second opinion to verify the diagnosis and medication that was given.

Got my first appt same day. Great experience. Referred my husband who also made his first appt today.

Based on dissatisfaction with the physical who referred me to Dr. Gonzales, I was skeptical going in. But the office staff was very competent and professional and Dr. Gonzales immediately allayed any concerns I had. She's courteous, understanding and very thorough, conveying a thorough knowledge of her area of medicine without being condescending or dismissive. I was instantly put at ease and left feeling very assured in the level of care she had provided and would definitely recommend her.

She was amazing! I tried another dermatologist who only gave me one good piece of advice and it was in reference to what caused my skin irritation but was more interested in selling me products to try for treatment. I explained this to Dr. Gonzales who did make me feel reassured in the advice I received in reference to my skin allergy, however, Dr. Gonzales took time to assess and develop a plan for my treatment needs, told me the realistic time-frame for me to see results, and it worked!
