I can't say enough good about Dr. Schmidt! I had an intradural extramedullary tumor found on my spinal cord. Dr. Schmidt was top notch in every aspect of care from the initial consult to my recent 8 week post-op follow up. He is a brilliant surgeon who treats his patients with compassion while educating you with very understandable medical information. His bedside manner is AMAZING! When you leave an appointment you NEVER feel like just a number. I had full trust in Dr. Schmidt performing such a delicate surgery. His office staff and his NP Megan are top of the line as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Schmidt!!

I am a nurse and I had been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and told I needed a spinal fusion which I wanted to avoid. I had already tried epidurals, physical therapy, tens, and opioids. After reviewing my case and my MRI, Dr Schmidt explained everything clearly and told me he could do a more conservative Laminectomy which he was able to schedule in only 3 weeks. After 2 years of terrible back pain, I woke up after surgery with no more back pain and was able to walk just a couple of hours later. The numbness in my legs is slowly resolving and I consider Dr Schmidt the most wonderful surgeon I have ever known. His office staff have also been a delight to work with. And Highland Hospital staff were very friendly and caring. I definitely would only recommend Dr Schmidt for any spine surgery.

The best!
Dr. Schmidt is incredible. He made me feel extremely comfortable and in good hands during a scary time in my life. He’s very down to earth and honest. He’s so easy to talk to and he listens equally as well. I wish sometimes that I had more reasons to be able to see him. Besides my main reason for seeing him, he helped with another chronic issue. He was the first dr able to help me get a better quality of life. He’s seriously a wonderful NS. His bedside manner is top notch. Even though he has so many patients, emergencies galore, he makes you feel like you’re his top priority and he remembers everything from appt to appt. I cannot say enough about his NP, Megan Solimano. She’s also incredible and together they make a highly effective team.

Absolutely love this Doctor
I met Dr. Schmidt with some trepidation because nobody was contacting me about annual MRI exams, and I wax 3 years out on a one year Recall. The chose him due to excellent credentials and was not disappointed . He’s a good listener and communicator. A family man who loves his work
