Terrible
Been a patient since age 16. So in 21 years I would think mathos would be knowledgeable enough to see that my new health issues were out of the norm. He has not advocated for me to get true diagnosis and treatment. Has ignored my symptoms that mimic anorexia but in fact is a rare vascular digestive compression disorder. And renal cysts. Never bothered to fight for my CT scan approval until I called his office and advocated for myself never ordered my renal scans or call with results. The gyno did. Dr mathos doesn't care if you die as long as he gets his payments for care from big insurance. If you have complex health issues don't go to Dr Mathos.Nina Eseny you know me -

Ignored my symptoms for a year
I visited Dr. Mathos with severe leg, ankle, and foot edema. With a history of heart conditions in my family, I expected him to order some tests and bloodwork. Instead, I was told to lose weight and lower my salt intake. The next visit a year later, my edema had not improved and I was having difficulty urinating. I asked for bloodwork and tests, and when they came back normal, he told me the same thing from the previous visit. I began seeing my previous doctor since I felt I was not being taken seriously about my health. Months later, it was discovered that I had a large fibroid tumor that was crushing my bladder and causing hyrdronephrosis. It was determined that I was in immediate need of surgery to prevent kidney failure. The volleyball-sized tumor was 7 lbs. I feel that I was ignored despite serious symptoms and know of another person who had a very similar experience with this doctor.
