Arrogant and dismissive
I called Upmc orthopedic surgery to make an appointment with a surgeon after I suffered an ankle injury. I did not find out until months later that he was not a surgeon. He is very dismissive and my MRI showed multiple bone contusions and grade 2-3 years of all ligaments. I was told “I take care of football players and I know what I’m doing” when I said I thought I needed surgery from my research. I’m a nurse. After 6 weeks in a cam boot and not much improvement he told me “your MRI really didn’t show anything “ when I listed what it said he told me “that’s what a sprained ankle is”. To me not getting any better his only answer was to stay in the cam boot another 4 weeks. I did not go back and got a second opinion and had surgery done on my ATFL. It had not healed after 3 months in the boot but everything else had. If he would have listed to his patient and not thought he knew everything I would have been healed by now. He cost me months of not getting full pay all well as quality of l

Awful
Dr. Dancy has an awful bedside manor. I felt like I was bothering him.. every time I asked a question. Every time I had an appointment. he'd always rush out after a few minutes. It felt like he wouldn't listen to me or really cared. I even took someone with me to see how he was. They even agreed with how terrible he is. I've never left a review before.. I hate to leave a bad review but I hope this helps someone out.

I had a wrist strain from riding horses all weekend. i couldn't put pressure on it. i looked down at it one day and it was swollen. Dr. Dancy diagnosed it as a strain. He injected my wrist with a natural anti- inflammatory. within 36 hours i had full range of motion and no pain. He listens and is very knowledgeable.
