Very Thorough Physician
Refusing to "chalk things up tp Parkinson's" until he cleared through all other possible reasons for my gastrointestinal problems. I was very impressed even though I had to stay awhile in order to get all the tests done and resulted. Additionally, Soin and attending staff were first rate as usual!

My wife had an allergic reaction. I took her to the ER in Troy. Dr. Proctor came in an asked some questions. They talked back and forth for awhile. He was concerned about the swelling in her mouth. Gave her a couple of IV shots. We had a good experience during a bad situation.

A terrible experience - was referred to the ER by an urgent care for a CT scan or MRI. Dr. Proctor refused to do it and suggested I just take some ibuprofen. I mean, really? If what you are looking for is an old man who won’t listen to you & will be demeaning….have I got the doctor for you!

HORRIBLE! Treated (and I use this word very loosely) my wife for pneumonia. No compassion. No empathy. Thankfully there was as a great RN and a PA who were actually taking care of her. Clinically dehydrated yet never treated. No IV antibiotic. IV steroids and a breathing treatment was provided. This is why people don’t trust physicians. He didn’t even take the time to listen to her concerns. Physicians used to practice medicine because they cared and wanted to make a difference but sadly these are fewer and fewer. Just because you have the intellectual capacity to become a physician does not mean it’s the right career for you. I wish Med schools would utilize an entrance psychological profile to ensure that applicants would also have the emotional qualifications to be a physician.

I definitely would NOT recommend Dr Proctor. I wanted to cry when he was in my room. He made me feel like I had no right to be there even though I was referred to ER by primary care physician due to difficulty breathing and pneumonia. Soin Hospital is wonderful as well was my Nurse and PA that cared for me. If it was not for the 2 of them, I would have never got treated. Dr Proctor basically told me I came in ill but did not look it even though I was struggling to breath. Horrible bedside manner.
