I have been a patient of Dr. Leavens for about 6- 7 years. My previous neurologist (2 - 3 years) at that office office moved out of state and my treatment was transferred to Dr. Leavens. I am very happy with Dr. Leavens and his office staff! He is kind, professional, and interested in my treatment. He made appropriate referrals for MRI and CT exams prior to back surgery and a later referral to UTSW hospital in Dallas for a second opinion on back surgery results. This referral resulted in seeing a neurologist at UTSW who diagnosed MS. I would not have a correct diagnosis and treatment without Dr. Leavens' professional judgement and professional care. His office staff and nursing assistant are always professional, kind, and very efficient. We have rarely waited more than 5 minutes before being seen for appointments. I am a satisfied returning client and highly recommend Dr. Leavens.

I have mixed feelings. Loved Dr. Leavens, however his office could not have been less helpful. When I needed specialty meds refilled they would not return my calls nor did they return the pharmacy calls. I missed a week of meds! Because of this I cannot recommend this office.

I waited over 6 weeks to see him. I was on time for my appointment. I filled out the paperwork for a new patient. I asked if Dr. Leavens would sign papers from Cigna once every 6 months so I could remain on FMLA at work. I was told no. He does not sign paperwork. I reported this to Cigna. It's the first they heard of this. A doctor not signing papers from insurance to help a patient? Very poor office practice and customer service.

Dr. Leavens is a phenomenal practitioner who I would wholeheartedly recommend to close family and friends. He was patient as I explained my concerns in detail, spent time asking questions while testing performing a neuro eval, and he had clearly read my chart in detail before our meeting. He spent the most time talking with me I've ever experienced at a doctors office. His follow up plan was well explained, thoughtful, and thorough. He's the definition of a top Doctor (which he has been voted).
