Thank You Dr. Ramanujam
Great doctor. I had seen so many doctors prior to Dr. Ramanujam. She was the first to diagnose me with Gout and got me on the correct treatment. I haven't felt this good in years. I saw the reviews below and im struggling to understand the negative ones. Front office staff is super friendly. They don't pick up the phone right away, but every time I leave a message I get a call back within 24 hours.

I’ve worked with doctors professionally for the last 20 years and I just have to say that it’s Disservice to patients to have your new doctor communicating with patients the way she does. Never in my years… I would give zero stars if I could and that’s no reflection of Rhamanujam. Patients who get shifted from one Dr to another not a fault of their own should never be made feel by staff or the doctor that it is. Hopefully they can work on that. It is an awful burden for a patient to bare when they been waiting a month to tell your Rheumatologist the symptoms that you experienced after the latest initiation of a new medication… As well as follow up on how things change since stopping the last one.. Instead of finding a caring ear I was turned away with no answers…unheard ...told to follow up with your primary regarding the symptoms you experienced on a rheumatological medication… Awful. Very poor management of care. Deeply disappointed with this experience. She terminated care no reason

My partner saw Dr. Thalia Ramanujam for about 9 months for ongoing severe neck, shoulder and arm pain. Not only was she ineffective, her advice was incorrect and actually dangerous. She started by prescribing several months of PT and several rounds of lab work. It was extremely hard to get an appointment (as others have mentioned) as she was on/off vacation frequently. After a couple months, the pain worsened. We repeatedly asked for X-rays or an MRI, and again and again, she denied our request. Instead of trying to find the root cause, she jumped to speculation and prescribing medications. She prescribed Prednisone for my partner. We asked if there were any side effects or anything we should know- and her response was that it was perfectly safe and harmless. We found out later, by doing our own research, that prednisone is a pretty intense steroid and should be ramped on and off. We confirmed this info by calling Dr. Ramanujam's office and confirming with her staff, who said yes-

Dr. Ramanujam is a very knowledgeable and committed rheumatologist. She has taken excellent care of me since I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis about 8 years ago.

The doctor and Maia (the mid-level practitioner) are fine providers. The nurse(s) that do the infusions are also very friendly and knowledgeable. The problem I've encountered is with the billing department. It's close to I.M.P.O.S.S.I.B.L.E to get a return call. There's ALWAYS and excuse on why my call was not returned. I don't even have an issue with what I owe, but now and then I have questions about billing and after 3 calls, I MIGHT get a call back. That dept. is not held accountable..

I can concur with a lot of the other reviews. I, too, have had almost no luck with getting a return phone call. Once, after phoning and leaving messages 8 times, I went into the office to take care of my issue. This process took over 45 minutes in person. Also, I rarely see Dr. Ramanujam, almost always her assistant, Maia, even when I specifically ask to see the doctor. The doctor has not examined my joints and I had to ask for blood work to check my liver.

I called her office for over a week to try and make an appointment. I left 3 messages and got no call back. This after being referred to see her by my Doctor for the extreme pain I've been suffering from that they believe to be fibromyalgia. I had to drive down to her office because no one would respond to my calls. Once there I was informed that they only make appointments after the dr has decided to take the patient. Either way they could have returned my calls instead of leaving me wondering.

Dr. Thaila has been my doctor since 2010, and seen me through some really rough times, Have found her to be knowledgeable, patient, and more than willing to explain things til I understand. I have had RA since late 1970's, and dealt with my share of Rheumatologist, and she and her staff are by far my favorite. K. Shanefelt

She is rushed and is a terrible listener. In a specialty such as rhuematology where a lot is based on symptoms and not labs she definitely needs to work on this. Due to the above she has made a few clinical errors that could have been avoided. She is not thorough either with her exams. Not once has she examined my joints or the swelling. After my last appointment where she got offended (because I asked her for a specific blood test ) she was disrespectful and rude and has now lost a patient.
