This doctor was very condescending. He gaslit regarding my insomnia and depression commenting that I should just be able to get out of the bed because I'm a 'smart woman and could figure it out'. Whenever I tried to advocate for myself, he would get upset, throw his hands up and roll his eyes while cutting me off. He was not a good listener and kept trying to tell me what I was feeling in my own body. He only tried 3 medications and when they didn't work or had bad side effects, he threw his hands up again and said he didn't know what else to do. I told him if he felt my situation was too complex for him, then to point me to another doctor. He shoveled some papers around on a table, said he couldn't find the numbers then prescribed me a med that he new needed a pre-auth and then went on vacation for a month! His office staff is incompetent as well. Needless to say I was a month without medication and my therapist stated I went into some type of mania from not sleeping. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Competent and Cares
I was misdiagnosed by a nurse practitioner. The haphazard misdiagnosis cost over 1000 hours of negative intrusive thoughts, jeopardized my future, and permanently damaged my relationship with psychiatry. If you work in the military-federal role, you know of the steep punishment for those who are assigned stigmatized labels. A misdiagnosis must be reported in the SF-86 paperwork every five years, forever tarnishing our moral character. The misdiagnosis was more traumatic than the event that led me to get help in the first place. Dr. Ahmed was smart, kind and removed the soul crushing misdiagnosis. The condition isn’t chronic, but the shame sure is. I now understand why people don’t get help. Getting hurt by the help is the worst betrayal of all. Thank you for the letter clarifying the temporary event. Five out of five, would see again if needed.

Beyond horrid
Doesn’t listen to concerns and is extremely dismissive. Decided what medications I should be on/ stay on based on their effects on pregnancy. I am not pregnant and don’t plan to be. Gained 20+ pounds in a short period of time and when I told him he weighed me. I asked him to not tell me what the weight was as I’ve had a history of eating disorders. He told me my weight anyways then proceeded to tell me I was overweight and my B.M.I was not good. He also told me that I needed to lose a minimum of 10 pounds before my next appointment, which was in a month. My thyroid was messed up due to the medications he put me on which is why there such a dramatic weight change in such a short period of time. He refused to give an official diagnosis and refused to consider the opinion of my psychologist. He didn’t do any sort of testing just went through a checklist. He also was only pleasant when I didn’t bring up issues, which made me feel like I couldn’t raise concerns.

Dr Ahmed has been wonderful to me. (I am a mom of 2). After a bad experience with a previous psychiatrist who tried to push 10 different medications on me, I luckily found him via a google search. We worked together on my medication, and he assured me I was going to be ok. He has a very calming demanear, which helped me because I am a spaz! I definitely recommend him to anyone.

AWFUL DOCTOR. Completely disregards holistic mental health. He is a PDA Rolodex pusher. No meaningful, scientific method of diagnosing anything but a stroke of a pen. Absurd documentation by him and support staff. Poor quality by any medical practice standard. What the heck is going on in healthcare? Beware! Secretary is most vested staff person who cares. That is it. But her role is very narrow.

He truly cares about you. Dr. Ahmed is patient and inquisitive to discover the root of the issue. So many times I have had labels thrown at me after a quick conversation. Dr. Ahmed not only has a great personality but also makes you feel very comfortable. I have never left his office without a smile and my life has been so much more positive in the year last year and a half that I have been seeing him. I feel very fortunate that I found him.

I recently switched Dr's to Dr. Ahmed. I found that he listened to my symptoms and prescribed a medication that has significantly changed my mood. It did take time getting up to a therapeutic dose, but he explained the process each step of the way. We did telehealth appointments due to COVID and they were as helpful as in office appointments. I feel I had to wait a reasonable amount of time to get in as a new patient.

Dr. Ahmed prescribed me an anti depressant and I called after 6 days with 5 pounds of weight gain, the reason for my high anxiety, and he wanted me to continue on it for another three weeks. He had a secretary call me back when I asked him to call me back . He told her to tell me this drug doesn't cause weight gain. Well, I'm not making this up and I immediately canceled all appointments there. I will find a doctor who will listen to me and not brush off my concerns.

After a brief unstructured interview, Dr. Ahmed wanted to stop the treatment plan I had been using for 2 1/2 yea. This without administering any type of standardized test, or reviewing the detailed test battery administered by another professional. After "discussing" the matter for some time, he finally admitted to not knowing the DSM criteria for individuals in my age bracket. During treatment, he did not listen to my concerns and only documented them in the computer if I requested it.

As a patient of Dr. Ahmed at 47 years old, he diagnosed me, for the first time in my life, as having manic depressive order, and prescribed a cocktail of $450 per month psychoactive medicine which I sadly took for 2 months only to feel much worse. When I stopped the medicine, I went into serious devastating withdrawal from the heavy drugs Dr, Ahmed prescribed. When I asked him what to do he only prescribed an antidepressant. I later learned from other Doctors (who all said I never had manic depr

Doesn't let you talk or explain your issues. Doesn't listen to your concerns. Asked twice to change medication because it wasn't working and making me sick. Would not change it, just kept increasing it which made me more sick.
