Takes care of multiple friends
First, I'd highly recommend Dr. Tucker (Virginia Eye Institute). At my age, one of the common things we discuss are the doctors we see and who we'd recommend. When eyes came up, it was exciting to see that several of my friends also see Dr. Tucker (and adore him!). He did cataract surgery for a few of us and has seen others in a more emergent fashion. We definitely recommend him. He also does webinars (you can see them on the Virginia Eye Institute website) to talk about cataracts so you can learn more and see what he is like.

Amazing Experience with Dr. Steve Tucker
Dr. Tucker recently performed my cataract surgery and it could not have been a better experience! Patients that have had cataract surgery understand the dilemma and confusion that can exist when deciding on the type of lens to use. Dr. Tucker spent a lot of time going over all the options and was never in a hurry. You would have thought I was his only patient! His staff is extremely friendly and the office is clean and efficient. The procedures could not have been easier. I could not believe how fast it was and how comfortable I was. If anyone is told they need cataract surgery, my first advice would be to choose Dr. Tucker, my second second thing would be to do it sooner than later. It is a gift of vision. I wore glasses or contacts for over 60 years and it is awesome not needing them. I recommend Dr. Tucker in the highest degree and have sent anyone I know to him that needs cataract surgery.

I saw Dr. Tucker and his team at the Reynolds Crossing location for the second time this week. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My mother is in her 90s and they took their time with her. One of his staff, Aaron, was exceptional. My family and I have always gone to the Virginia Eye Institute and will continue for many years.

I had a very positive experience. The office is new and separated into different waiting rooms which is helpful with all that is going on. The team was very kind and thorough. The appointment was VERY comprehensive. I left knowing I had a thorough exam and that nothing was missed. Dr. Tucker was great - very professional and educational. He explained issues that I had heard about from my previous ophthalmologist but never understood. We discussed cataracts and he emphasized that his philosophy is based on what would benefit me. We decided together that it is fine to wait another year and re-evaluate. I trust him and look forward to seeing him again next year.
