Dr. Steven Nance, MD

Steve as well as his nurse on staff treated me horribly because not only was I chastised for being a young unwed mother, but also for being on medicaid. I was forced into a c-section I did not need because "He wanted this baby out by 9 because he didn't want to come to the hospital after then" And I wasn't dilating "Fast enough" (I was dilated to an 8 after 5 hours of labor with my first pregnancy) During a routine visit I had a skin tag and asked Dr. Nance if I should be worried about it or if it was fine and he said "Oh darn it, looks like you have genital warts" (I didn't, I went to another doctor and got a pap that confirmed this was definitely not the case.) I had a yeast infection my whole pregnancy ( I didn't know what it was I had never had one) and was told to stop complaining, I shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place. Very unprofessional and truly TRAUMATIZING. Now I am left with a botched c- section and severe trauma even after 8 years.

My baby was delivered by Dr. Nance, and I was treated horribly the literal 10 minutes he was in the room. My friend was cheering me on saying "you're doing it!" as the baby was coming and Dr. Nance snapped at her saying, "Well, she hasn't done anything until the baby is here." I didn't want pitocin at delivery (which wasn't medically necessary for me) and he looked me in the eyes as my baby was coming out and yelled, "Oh, so I guess we'll just let you bleed to death." Needless to say, I did it, and no one bled to death. My husband and I also requested delayed cord clamping which Dr. Nance did anyway without telling us beforehand. When my husband asked why, Dr. Nance yelled at him about how there was meconium and they had to cord clamp. Good reason, terrible way to say it. There was so much tension in the room with Dr. Nance's raised voice, which was unnecessary. I asked what degree tear I had and was ignored. Dr. Nance came in and out without so much as a hello or congratulations.

Dr. Nance is stuck in the doctor will tell you how you are going to give birth mindset. Not impressed. He needs to retire and let Jeff Nance take over his practice. Jeff actually listens to his patients wishes.

Dr. Nance is a competent physician but will not honor your wishes if you have any outside of conventional delivery practices. He gave me an episiotomy even though I specifically requested not to have one, and I have had problems from that ever since.

I asked basic questions to his staff. They couldn't answer any of them gave me the run around and hung up on me. The billing lady who the receptionist sent me to them told me to find another Dr. I asked very simple questions. Worst office help ever.

We've been VERY unimpressed with Dr. Steven Nance (Jeff, his sone, has been fine). We'll not be returning with the next pregnancy.

I did not like my visit with Dr Nance! I requested for Jeff twice over the phone and in the office i ended up with Steven! I felt rushed by him and his staff. He would not listen to any of my symptoms! He just wanted to do my pap test then he sent me on my way! I will not be returning to this Dr!

Excellent doctor and staff. The best of the best!

Dr. Nance and his staff are all awesome. The office is so efficient, I have never sat in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes, and everyone who works there is so friendly and caring. Dr. Nance is very nice and patient.

Dr. Nance is fantastic! He is kind, professional, and knowledgable. His son just started working at the same office, and he is wonderful. He has an ultrasound machine at the new office which is super convenient. Would definitely recommend both Dr. Nance's.

Dr. Nance is so sweet and his staff is also so kind, they are always on schedule and prompt. He is the reason my second son made it into this world alive and safe!

Throughout my whole experience with Dr. Nance, his nurses & receptionists, I was treated with respect & kindness. Dr. Nance's knowledge & expertise is unmatched. I've delivered many children with Dr. Nance & would recommend him to anyone who is in need of a doctor who knows his stuff. I read another review where they compared his office to a drive-thru. I didn't feel that way at all. I felt like they respected my time to not keep me waiting.They are a well oiled machine.

Hey helped me to deliver twins vaginally, very good in the delivery room even when complications arose. Wonderful Doctor!

Listens, cares, super friendly and takes great care of you. Excellent staff.
