Dr. Stephen Schmidt, MD

Dr. Schmidt sees me every 6 months for checkups. On my last check up he said, 'Your PSA's (Prostate levels) are starting to climb. It's time to get a prostate biopsy to rule out a false positive.' I selected Dr. Simpson (Urologist) who confirmed through my biopsy I had prostate cancer. Because Dr. Schmidt caught it early I was able to have 9 weeks, 45 treatments of radiation to eradicate my cancer. I rang the bell on Friday March 21st...Cancer Free! Dr. Schmidt saved my life!

Dr. Schmidt was apparently unwilling to reschedule appointments due to work and basketball schedules. Therefore he dropped me. Regardless, He seemingly had a very condescending attitude towards me and acted as though I didn’t know my body. He could never solve my eczema problems and sent me to dermatologists who never could solve the issues because they didn’t want to get to the root cause . He didn’t know how to treat my asthma prescribing medication that didn’t help while reluctant to give me medication that did. He just had a very demeaning attitude towards me. He always made me feel as though I was a burden. He never worked with me as a partnership. His condescending attitude about me knowing my body hindered his ability to help me overcome my asthma, eczema and other symptoms. I was able to monitor and adjust my medication which helped my conditions. Telling him was like talking to a rock. He “always” knew better than me, the patient. Except he didn’t.

Dr. Schmidt is a very knowledgeable professional. He does not simply tell you what you want to hear. He treats you like a responsible grown up and tells you what you need to hear. He has helped lower my blood pressure and guided me to a healthier lifestyle which has shown in my weight and blood work. Every time I've followed his recommendations the results were as he said they would be. No, he probably won't give you a hug. But when you've done well he commends you and when you don't follow his direction he will directly explain potential consequences. He is a good doctor.

He is kind , caring, and very thorough.

Dr.Schmidt is rude, unprofessional, condescending, and off-putting in how he treated his patient. He is selective in which type of patient he wants to manage rather treating patients equally. Appointment with Dr. Schmidt was canceled abruptly within 7 mins of discussing my concerns and wishing to established patient profile. He states that I should go back to competitor hospital where I received care for my car accident. He is not attentive to his patient concerns nor flexible in providing the care his patient needs.

Dr. Schmidt is NOT the doctor to go to if you experience any kind of mental illness. This doctor has zero bedside manner and is honestly just rude to be rude. He had the audacity to tell me that Delta 8 (completely legal in Ga) is making my anxiety worse (no federal studies done to back this claim up) and he would not give me the medication I have been on for 8 years because I was honest with him, that I would most likely fail for THC. He is the kind of doctor that makes already mentally ill people more ill and makes them feel all alone like there is no help. I pray that nobody more desperate for help than I was, goes to see this man because he lacks empathy. Big time. Do not recommend to my worst enemy. Unless you want to leave in tears and feeling hopeless like I did.

He is direct, knowledgeable and has been accurate every time me or my husband has been evaluated by him. We've trusted him for about 10 years now.

Dr. Schmidt is a great doctor. He works with me and my alcoholism. He has protected me against an unknowing request of opioids due to my propensity to addiction. I can't say enough good things.

Dr. Stephen Schmidt is the best family physician I ever had. He is very smart, his diagnostic is accurate always. He takes his patients right on time. I moved to Florida last year and one of the hardest decisions I have to make was having to stop driving to Evans, Ga to see Dr. Schmidt. He is my brother, sisters and other friends family physician and all of them are happy with his practice. His nurse Alana and the staff are very good and provide professional service. Thanks

My cats vetinarian spends more time with with her and answers my questions. This doctor has a magic cure for everything. Take a pill! No explanation.. No bedside manor what so ever. Amazes me this guy is allowed to "practice" medicine.
