Dr. Stephen May, MD

Dr. May always takes the time to not only address your needs But he also as how things have been going always. Got to know me from the start. What my daily life is like. The things that I had been struggling with. And how could he help! Anytime I need anything he is always there. I can leave a message and he will get back with me properly. He just really knows what to do and how to treat not only your illnesses but you as a patient. Always with respect and concern. I have never had a PCP as good as him in my life! Would recommend him to anybody!

I have never felt so comfortable with a Doctor my whole life. DR. MAY IS THE MOST HUMBLE AND DOWN TO EARTH PERSON I HAVE EVER TALKED WITH, and THOROUGH. He LISTENS TO ME, and TALKS WITH ME WITH CARE AND CONCERN AND I WOULD RECOMEND ANYONE TO HIM. My WHOLE FAMILY GOES TO DR. May!!! THANKS DOC !!!

I have been a patient of his for 3 yrs now. He is so kind, patient,and brilliant in his craft. He prays with you. He does not believe in prescribing lots of meds. He will educate you,but will not force you to take them. He prescribed a cream for my hand a few years ago. I have never had the issue again. He is wonderful. I always feel uplifted and motivated after a visit with him. He is a great asset to St. Thomas medical group. So worth driving from Dickson County to see him.

Dr. May is the most thorough, most relatable and caring doctor I have ever been to. That's why I have stayed with him so long. Every visit is like this one. It is great to have a doctor you can trust.

Coming from a medical family (and having grown up with incredible medical care) I can attest Dr. May's care is exemplary.He is thorough, efficient and detailed. While also warm, kind, understanding and compassionate. We all know medical providers--especially MDs--are limited in the amount of time they can spend with us. My last visit with Dr. May was to address some complex phenomena and logistics surrounding my medical and wellbeing needs. He assessed both the big picture and all related 'smaller' logistics so wonderfully and efficiently. I walked out of the appointment feeling very seen, heard and attended to. Thank you SO much, Dr. May!Having an incredible doc provides a stronger sense of safety and security in our chaotic world. Priceless.I am incredibly grateful.

Dr. May actually tries to treat you like a person and addresses all my concerns each time I see him. His is thorough and doesn't just push you through the system to bill you insurance. I feel good about Dr. May being my whole family's doctor. We are in good hands!

Dr. May doesn't rush you through the visit. He takes his time and listens to everything you have to say and addresses all your needs. If you have something going on and need a referral he gets it done. He's positive and is always encouraging me!! He has prayed with me before. He is just so kind and caring and just the best doctor I've ever had!!

Every one i came in contact with on the staff… most especially the Doctor were helpful courteous proficient. My wait time in each Pod was 30 min or less.

I've been a patient of Dr. May for about 12 years now. He is amazing, always has time to listen and will work you in quickly if needed. He also goes outside of what regular doctors do. At one point I was pretty sick and we were trying to figure it out, he gave me his cell phone number and told me to call or text if I ever need anything.

Dr May was friendly and professional. He informed me in detail about my lab work and what I need to do and what I shouldn’t do. He informed me that I should not use ibuprofen which I didn’t know. He always listens prescribes what I need be it medicine or other professional help.

This was my introductory visit to Dr May, but he was attentive and helpful with my questions. I came away feeling like the visit went well.

Dr. May listen, is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and takes time to listen to you as the patient. I’m in my 50s and have been to my fair share of doctors. This gentleman is by far the best I’ve ever encountered. His staff is top notch as well. Not only is Dr. May an amazing doctor he is a kind person as well. He has addressed and solved different issues for me, and has my lifelong gratitude.

Dr May really cares and takes time to listen to my questions and concerns. He always treats me like family.

Dr. May is the only doctor I’ve ever found that will spend the time to get to know you, your family and work life. And he will still remember those details on a yearly check-up. You will NEVER feel rushed once Dr. May is in the room with you. He listens to my questions and concerns, works together with me to find solutions and is always concerned with finding the perfect solution for whatever I am going through. There is also the great option of being able to have a virtual visit when you need to do a quick check-in or have questions. As well as the patient portal when you can message for refills, appointments or any general questions. My only complaint would have been, in previous years the front desk staff wasn’t very friendly and never responded to the patient portal messages. Now there is amazing new staff who makes you feel extremely welcome!

Insightful and motivational. Most of all, genuine!
