My husband and I recently visited Dr. Felts at Nashville Travel Medicine for a consultation for our upcoming honeymoon abroad (Europe, Africa, and Asia for a month). Dr. Felts reminded us of Carl from the Disney movie "Up" - totally endearing, extremely kind, big hearted, and a passion for his wife and travel. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the areas we are visiting, recommending the proper vaccines, food, and mosquito prevention tips, and he also inspired us with his own stories of 45+ years of traveling with his wife (including a 2-month honeymoon they took as newlyweds). He equipped us with the proper knowledge to be safe and healthy on our journey (even little things like not drinking local water and eating only cooked or peeled food in certain places) while at the same time administering nearly pain-free vaccinations, followed by a piece of chocolate for each of us. We loved his personality, zest for life, and stories, and visiting him felt like a part of our journey.

Dr. Felts was our family doctor for many years before he went into a specialty field of infectious medicine. We were lost when he could no longer be our internist. He is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors we've ever known. My husband and I feel so blessed that he was in our lives to help through health issues and hard times. He's the greatest, as far as we're concerned!
