Terrible Experience
Dr. Pickel is inconsiderate of patient’s time. With waiting times consistently exceeding one hour. I have been scheduled to see the doctor before she even arrives on site, ensuring I will have a long wait time. There is no concern for people’s time. Additionally, Dr. Pickel lacks common awareness. Asking me if I had seen the string for my iud. Please tell me how a woman can see her own string?I strongly recommend if you are looking for a doctor to keep looking.

Always ready to listen
Despite previous reviews from others Dr. Pickle has been very attentive, caring & compassionate towards me . She's always willing to listen as well as have a laugh with you. If she notices something that's questionable she immediately goes for a second opinion by a high risk OB & relays the information directly to you instead of saying " everything's ok" she goes into detail about what was said , she doesn't treat you like you're stupid .

Horrible experience !!! She did not look for my baby’s heartbeat and told me I had to trust that she can see his heartbeat. She didn’t show me anything. Then she sent me to get a ultrasound in Mansfield and the nurse didn’t even check my baby’s measurements fluid or anything… sent me out in 4 minutes claiming baby was measuring small so she couldn’t do diagnostics … dr. Pickle is not attentive nor is she caring

I trusted Dr Pickel with my life for many years, she was like family. I had a 5 star review up here. Until the worst thing that’s ever happened to me medically and I will never trust her again. After stressing for days that I thought something was wrong and didn’t think my baby had a heartbeat, I got an appt with her and she told me she saw a heartbeat and that I wouldn’t see it because I’m not a doctor and I asked for sure if she saw it and she promised me she did. She then scheduled me for a sink when she was out of town so that the sonographer could tell me there was indeed not one and hadn’t been for at least two weeks. I was devastated. This was a very traumatic experience all around and I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone, as she can’t be trusted. I wouldn’t want what happened to me to happen to any other mama. She never admitted what happened or apologized. I made her do a D&C and never saw her again.

Incredibly impersonal. She handled a post-op procedure aggressively and with minimal emotional intelligence. Even though a local anesthesia was prepared for her to use on my wife, she elected to bypass that option so that she could rip open my wife's incision and scrub away the clotted blood from her wound. To address my wife's agony, she offered her "5 seconds to take a breath." The nurse looked mortified as she watched with disbelief. And just as abruptly as she came in, she was gone. When doubling back for a similar procedure a few days later, my wife was given a local anesthesia and didn't drop a tear. In my layman's research, there has not been a study that supports denying a patient a local anesthesia being a best practice. Further, there was an average of a 2 point differential on the pain scale in favor of the local being less painful. Dr. Pickel simply wasn't present and attentive to my wife in her time of need.

I’ve been humiliated by Tami at the Mansfield location. I made an appointment for a iud check up. I was experiencing some cramping but was not sure if my symptoms were normal. The office manager Tami was forcing a problem appointment in which would not be covered by my insurance. I told her several times I’m not sure if there is a problem and I would like an annual check up instead( since that would be covered by my insurance). She then was telling me I would have to reschedule because my appointment was for a problem appointment. I explained to her I drove an hour from Plano and if I could be seen that day. After going back and forth with me, trying to get $140 for the visit. She finally allowed me to get an annual check up. She told me if I did have a problem related to my IUD I would have to pay for the visit. I told her I would be ok with that. She made me feel like a liar and that I’m just trying to avoid the visit fee my insurance wouldn’t cover. After I was seen everything was

When my daughter was born she walked into the hospital room the first thing she said was your daughter looks like a white baby as my husband looked on speechless we were mortified yes me and my husband are both black. I want to share this story because I just cannot imagine another family having to go through this, can you imagine had she said the opposite to a white family. She wouldn't have because she considered looking like a white baby to be a compliment.

Dr Pickel is so compassionate and caring! No 2 pregnancies are alike, and she walked me through both of mine with care and understanding; and she always explained everything in a way I could understand. I truly trust her, and I will continue to see her as long as I can!

Dr. Pickel has been an outstanding OB- all during both pregnancies and deliveries of my sons. She has always been helpful, considerate, and a wonderful doctor by all accounts in my mind. I have even recommended her to a friend who then was her patient through the course of her pregnancy. I love Dr. Pickel!

Dr. Pickel clamped my sons cord before he started breathing which was against our request. She said an episiotomy has no advantage over a natural tear, then my wife tore badly in 2 spots when she did not give an episiotomy. She struggled to stitch up the wound, then sewed half an inch of my wifes vagina shut. She didn't wait for the placenta to come, she pulled it out by the cord. She was arrogant, not friendly, and a nurse told us that she was sleeping in the next room between contractions.
