Worsening low back pain, numbness and exquisite pain in both legs that occurs immediately upon standing. Seeing Dr Hermeneau yearly for the past 5 years. Every visit 2 month wait for an appointment, 2+ hour wait in his office, 3 min encounter and told “nothing I can do”. Went to Phoenix and saw two different the spine doctors. Both were shocked. Looking at yearly MRIs they BOTH said I needed surgery on my first visit, 5 years ago. My spine was significantly worse 2020 than 2019 or 2014. Both did a very extensive physical exam. Dr Hermeneau NEVER touched me! Copies of his office notes state Dr Hermeneau did an exam every visit. That is a lie! 3 min visit, no exam, long wait, terrible care. I always felt Dr Hermeneau was just rushing to go home. My back pain was manageable 5 yr ago when the Phoenix doctors said I SHOULD have had surgery. Do NOT TRUST HIM! Go to Phoenix. The drive is worth your back!

His medical expertise is not in question. However, upon giving a 3/5 review based on 3 visits where I had to wait more than an hour for a 3 min. meeting with the Dr. I was told to take my future business to Phoenix. POSITIVE REVIEWS ONLY if you want service here!

I can only speak for myself and I thought that was a self righteous person. I was there less than 10 minutes and he never did an exam. He walked in and told me that I was fat and that he didn't do surgery on fat people. I will drive to Phoenix or Tucson before I will enter his office again. People like him shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine.

After waiting over 2.5 hours to be seen both of the two times I went there, I discovered that more than myself was scheduled for the same time slot, and this was the case for all the time slots. Meds were prescribed w/o first ckng allergies, or other problems. Then my neck pain was diagnosed as needing physical therapy for weak neck muscles, without ever asking what I do for work, or exercise, or testing my muscle strength. I won't go back, I'll drive to Phoenix instead.

I’m sorry but I can not recommend anybody ,unfortunately my surgery was not a successful one.to make the story short. I was supposed to go back to work 4-6 weeks prior my surgery. And guess what happen? yes I’m disable now,and I glad I’m alive because all surgery are dangerous .you don’t know if your going to wake up, after that surgery. I am terrified just to know that I might not wake up. anestesias are dangerous ,well to me are.hope this info will help someone.

I have to admit that after my first visit to Dr. Hermenau I was a little hesitant because he was very straight to the point and didn't talk too much. My gut told me to trust him. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since my neck surgery. I'm still in a lot of pain but that's to be expected. I've talked to a lot of people who have had the same surgery and it's a long recovery. Dr. Hermenau is an amazing surgeon. He took very good care of me. I highly recommend him!

Hermenau and his x-ray tech are awesome! His office staff was horrible. I dealt with them in 2011 and this year. Both times the experience with office staff was the same. Will be going to Phoenix for my follow-up and future needs.

My wife just had spine surgery. Dr Hermenau has been great! He's up front and honest. When you're talking about your health, you don't want someone who beats around the bush. He stopped in after surgery to see how she was doing and was helpful when she got sick in front of him. He wasn't afraid to do what would normally be the nurse's job. He went far above and beyond by bringing some comfort items for my wife. I've never seen a Dr go out of his way like he did. Words can't express our gratitude

Dr. Shawn Hermenau, MD has a perfect technique . He wants an MRI before your first visit. Later Dr. may ask for a CT Scan w/contrast dye. Problem was severe headaches, left arm & palm aches, and upper chest pain on left side. MRI suggested surgery of my neck. Dr told me my left arm pain & chest pain will immediately go away. IT DID!!! I'm pain free. My surgery was February 20th, 2017. No heavy lifting, bending over. Listen to Dr. do as he ask recovery is great. He is very gifted! Amen.

We waited 90 + days to get an appointment with this doctor. The day of our appointment we were in and out of his office in less than ten minutes. He never did an exam or discuss with us what other options there could be for chronic neck pain and stiffness. He said he would refer us to a "pain specialist". We immediately tryec to get an appointment with that doctor and were given an appointment another 60 days out. We were given info they didn't like our insurance. His front office rude too.

After reviewing my symptions and my MRI, it was concluded that I am not a patient for any surgery now nor in my future. My spine is such a mess that Dr. Shawn would not know where to start or where to end. He also told me that IF he were to do surgery, I would have a 70/30 chance of ever walking again. I love it when Doktors don't lie. He referred me to an awesome P.M. Doktor. I still have some back pain, but with the help of a Nerostimulator I can function. Husband is pleased with his surgeries
