A Physician who possesses an exemplary bedside man
Dr. Shahnoos Mahdavi, MD, is an angel in a medicinal white-coat. It is beyond refreshing to be the patient of a Dr. who both: actively listens to their patient's concerns, and then acts on them, making her a true patient advocate. I highly and unequivocally recommend her. I was admitted to Mission Hospital in April 2023, to have surgery performed on my broken R-femur. Post-surgery, in the room I was assigned to recuperate in, Dr. Mahdavi, and nurses assigned to me, were discussing my medication needs. I spoke up, reiterating information regarding the potency difference between generic vs brand name medications. Dr. Mahdavi heard what I said, and sided with me, regarding my insistence on taking brand name medicines ordered for me, stating, "what she says makes sense." In other words she listened to me, gaining my full trust. Dr. Mahdavi looks at the whole patient's needs (physical and emotional well-being) for excellent medicinal outcomes. Again, I STRONGLY recommend her.

She has Exceptional and Extraordinary Skills.
I just wanted to say that Dr. Shahnoos Mahdavi is an Angel who saves people lives. When I came back from Stanford after receiving the bone marrow transplant, I was so weak and bruised and my body had no immune system at all. I was coming back from fighting two types of blood cancers at the same time. After a few weeks I got the lung infection and also Graft Versus Host Disease and ended to the Saddle Back Hospital where Dr. Mahdavi was in charge. When I could open my eyes in ICU, I saw the Guardian Angel, who has already saved my life with on-time diagnose, great manner and professionalism. In fact, I could have the last minutes of my life since one of my lungs failed and the other was working improperly. I would like to thank her for all the care she has given me while I was impatient at the hospital. I really can’t find the words to express my gratitude for her kindness, caring, support, love and of course her exceptional and extraordinary skills, she has been touched by God.

Questionable medical knowledge
Right off the bat, I did not feel comfortable with Dr. Mahdavi. She was not very friendly when introducing herself and she was very dismissive. When I asked her a question, her responses made it pretty apparent that she was not knowledgeable about the condition I was there to be evaluated for. I brought labs that were done within the last 30 days with me and all she wanted to do was send me back to the lab for the same exact tests. I left the office knowing I would not return for a follow up and found a new doctor.

After many months suffering from abdominal pain and evaluated by different physicians, doing many studies including Blood works, Ultrasound, CAT scan, Endoscopy with several different treatment plans and no result, I ended up seeing Dr Mahdavi. I was hopeless to enjoy my life without pain. She was able to take me off all the medications and treat my symptoms very fast by starting me on correct diet and supplements. She is well educated on her field. Her caring personality with her knowledge of medicine have made her one of a kind. She is very precise and does not miss any details. I highly recommend her.

Unprofessional and Unqualified - Do Not Recommend
My mother was admitted to Mission Viejo hospital and was seen by Dr. Mahdavi. We took her to the hospital because my mother suddenly started having blood in her urine and had multiple hematomas (Huge bruises) all over her legs and back. A couple of days had passed and Dr. Mahdavi could not figure out why my mom was having these issues and starting accusing us of hitting my mom and not telling the truth and wasting the hospitals money with our lies! We were shocked and in disbelief on how a medical doctor could talk like this and be so unprofessional and unqualified. To not be able to diagnose a disease is one thing but how she was talking to us was so out of line. After this incident, I immediately requested Dr. Mahdavi to be removed as my mom's doctor. To make the story short, my mom was later on diagnosed with a type of Bone Marrow cancer by another qualified Doctor. The way that Dr. Mahdavi acted was unacceptable on all levels. She is an unqualified doctor.
