Burned by billing and office status as a Clinic
While I was very satisfied with Doctor Gamradt, I must report and warn all future patients that any procedure done in his office in Beverly Hills will incur a hefty ‘minor surgery’ claim to your insurance of several thousand dollars. This is in addition to the procedure cost and time. This charge is outrageous since this is office visit and not performed at the actual surgical center in San Pedro. The office and billing were intractable in hearing my appeal because the Keck School of USC…Gamradt’s office is a clinic and this add-on charge is appropriate. In many cases, your insurance will cover a portion of this tacked on charge, but you (like me) could be stuck with a bill for hundreds of dollars. To anyone with common sense, this markup charge is akin to ‘dealer markup’ when buying a car. Purely a money grab from the insurance/patient in my opinion. I was not verbally informed of this charge and of the office’s ‘special’ status as clinic. I was told there was a sign some

Fees, fees and more fees
USC Keck Medicine up charges an extraordinary high amount compared to any normal doctor visit. Extra fees will be added to the visit that are not seen in other places.

The best orthopedic surgeon! Did a very difficult cartilage replacement on my knee from a 15 year old injury. He did an incredible job and was also very responsive to emails and any questions I had throughout the recovery. Fantastic experience and can not recommend enough. Would give ten stars if that were an option.

Dr. Gamradt is the BEST. I had full shoulder replacement less than 4 months ago, I am in outstanding shape. I have regained almost total mobility, without pain! Upon coming home, after 2 nights in the hospital, I took pain meds for 3 days, I was then able to manage my pain with Tylenol. My sister stayed with me for 4 days, after which I could be on my own. Many thanks to my amazing surgeon and his assistant Brian!

Dr. Gamradt performed major surgery (reverse shoulder replacement) on my 78 year old mother. He was kind, and incredibly helpful and responsive. He answers his own email, if you can believe that.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Gamradt and all his staff yesterday. All of them dilligently accommodated my needs on the same day I called to schedule appt. He understands how to best relate with his patients. I visit him at USC Keck Medical Center and feel that, not only is he addressing my medical needs, I am also part of his excellent teachings to resident doctors present. All said, I was able to go for initial consult, MRI, diagnosis and treatment in a matter of hours rather than days.

Dr. Gamradt has the resume of a surgical God. He takes the time to really listen, truly considered the possible impact my fibromyalgia could have on post operative healing, was honest about the increase in pain surgery would cause, and so far I'm healing nicely 1 week post op. He has given adequate pain relief and doesn't take a tough it out mentality, again, very important for a fibromyalgia patients, and has patience if work needs constant documentation. great bedside manner too!
