I will miss you Dr. McDaniel
I started with Dr. McDaniel in 2016. I had a shoulder injury and surgery but, nothing got rid of the pain! Burning, throbbing and stabbing! Extremely sensitive to touch and temperature. I was ready to amputate it myself! Dr. McDaniel quickly knew I had CRPS! He got some of the pain down to a tolerable level but the burning was horrific. He recommended a SCS, Spine Chord Stimulator and I’ve had minimal burning issues.I’ve moved out of Illinois to a warmer climate and had to leave the best doctor I’ve ever had! Thank you Dr. McDaniel! I will always have a special place in my heart for you and your professional knowledge. Not to mention your compassionate and humorous bedside manner.

Unlike some of the other reviews, I have been a patient of Chicagoland Pain Management since 2019, and Scott McDaniel since he was forced upon me when his colleague, a fantastic doctor, Bhargav Mudda, left in 2020 to move to California. I didn’t know I’d be in for the horror story I’d encounter the next several years leading to date. This is a “pain management specialist” (if you want to call a man wearing a durag and jordans in office that) with a god like complex. His superior, Goran Tubic, made way with making him president of the offices when Dr. Mudda left. Dr McDaniel is nothing short of an ignorant, scary, superficial, jagoff, whose only object is to get you in for as many procedures as he can biweekly. He LOVES to make false accusations about his patients on paper. I am a 34 year old with a rare brain disease (Pseudotumor Cerebri) as well as occipital neuralgia, Lumbar Denegenrative Disc Disease, and Degenerative Disc Disease of the Cervical Spine that has been aggravated by two major vehicle collisions in 3 years. Yes, Dr. McDaniel treats this. Yes, Dr. McDaniel prescribes opioid pain medication, barbiturates, and a slew of other items for this. But has he a lot of nerve. With as much as wrong with me, at times it CANNOT BE HANDLED AT HOME WITH PRESCRIBED MEDICATION. I have NEVER BEEN, never WILL BE, or never considered being a prescription or street drug abuser. Dr. McDaniel’s own words on July of 2021 were that he was okay with my use of state medicinal marijuana, in addition to prescribed medication above, as it would be more helpful than constant hospitalization. But, with having a mimic of a major brain tumor in my head and at the will of my own body, things do NOT always go the way one might like, and lone behold, I get hospitalized for my condition, rightfully so. What does the hospital and Dr McDaniel prescribe for several years? Dilaudid. Why? Because it’s all that kills the terrible pain in my head and neck! And guess what? Today, I am admitted into Hinsdale hospital. I am prescribed dilaudid via IV. Why? Because they always do! Did I ask? No! Did I need procedures like always? Yes! I had a hospitalist, neurologist, and surgeon all come in to my room, and write off on me that I have blown neck discs causing occipital neuralgia, and that dilaudid was the only appropriate course of treatment at the time, and that I’d need trigger point injections and an occipital nerve block. The nurse, Rob, sent several texts through the doctor on call system to Dr McDaniel (and was really nice and showed me) and his response? “Aware” What does he do? Send his cohort, Dr. Michael Hur down to my room, and after several other Dr. reccomendations stating otherwise, Dr Hur. Decides to start stating I am a DRUG ADDICT, and could not be on dilaudid any further, and tells me he’s refusing to do my nerve block although I called his office for two days prior telling them how I felt and his own nurses told me to go in! Let me remind you he (McDaniel) drug tests me every time he sees me for god knows what reason and I am not on anything he does not prescribe!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN AND HIS TEAM AND THEIR DECEPTIVE MONEY GRABBING PRACTICES! He could care less about you as a person! He wants procedures biweekly or no med refills. For forbid you have an insurance lapse, no med refill. He is most definately being reported to the AG and Illinois board of professiol regulation that administers his license, AGAIN, for his blatant misconduct and failure to go against his first oath in med school, DO NO HARM TO YOUR PATIENTS. Stay away!!!

Judgemental
Saw this doctor for pain management a few years ago. Appointments felt like interrogations rather than a team effort to manage my pain. Dr. McDaniels repeatedly failed to show sympathy for a long documented medical condition and receiving treatment from him was like pulling teeth. Avoid.
