Could have been better
I felt rushed and he was pretty dismissive of my concerns. I will definitely be looking for a different urologist.

Discount bin
WakeMed Cary must have picked this guy from the discount bin bc he treats people like garbage. Entitled, arrogant, disrespectful, demeaning, talks down to people and seems to enjoy humiliating them. Pretty much everyone is inferior to him. He thinks so anyways.

Attitude galore
Perhaps a good doctor but his ego gets on the way. He is dismissive, rushes, seems angry, and generally is not a caring doctor. There are too many better choices. His staff are afraid of him and now I understand why. Not a nice man

Zero compassion doctor
Dr. Lisson entered the room immediately stating that he didn't know why I had been referred to him because he couldn't do anything for me 'pharmacologically' because I am pregnant. He then feigned to listen to my symptoms but cut me off. I asked about concerns over recurrent UTIs (especially during pregnancy), to which he responded simply by saying they are normal for young sexually-active women. However, he did not even inquire if sexual activity was the trigger. I also expressed concerns over multiple voiding contributing to UTIs (not fully emptying the bladder), which he proceeded to tell me was an 'older woman's problem'. I'm not sure if he was implying that I was lying about my voiding patterns because I am not old enough, in his mind, to have them. It was evident that he was irritated to even be listening to me, although he did make a patronizing attempt not to seem irritated. He provided absolutely zero counsel or compassion.

Avoid this “doctor “ at all cost!!!!
I’ve never seen such poor care…. There was no care, no tests, nothing BUT he did want to do surgery. Without ever even doing any kind of examination. He is arrogant, dismissive and rude. He doesn’t listen to the patient’s concerns or answer questions.

Unsympathetic and Humiliating
I went to Dr Lisson for an ED problem. When he came in he said it was no wonder as I was taking some medications and was of an older age. I told him that even older men still had a libido and he suggested a couple of things then said they probably would not work. As I was leaving he said I had been “very entertaining”. I felt humiliated and disappointed.

Dr. Lisson
Found out there was a tumor in my bladder that needed to be removed. My long time urologist had retired and I was a referral. Dr. Lisson was straight forward and respectful during our conversation. Surgery was performed and all went well. The staff at the Cary Wake Med was great as well. Follow up visits will be frequent since the tumor was cancerous but the prognosis is good. Nobody wants to here the cancer word, but I think it is what you make of it regardless how the physician tells you about it. Dr. Lisson was respectful to both my wife and I during my follow up visit.

Treated my husband for a kidney stone: consultation, removal surgery and follow up. He is efficient in manner and provided excellent care. His office staff and nurses were always available to attend to all questions and minor issues. Dr. Lisson provided the expertise and immediate action to alleviate the pain and emergency visits that had continued for 4 weeks. He is also a nice human being. We recommend him highly.

Quite simply a bad overall experience. After just under one hour of waiting PAST our appointment, Dr Lisson was very dismissive, condescending and quite simply did not listen to our concerns. We were not treated as a person but simply seemed to be in his way (we were the last appointment for the day). A waste of time and money.

He was my 'second opinion' doctor. I Met him on a Friday, liked him immediately and had surgery the next Wednesday. He was very professional and concerned about my condition and knew what to do when other doctors said otherwise. Back to work in two days and no pain after my surgery.

Dr Lisson is an excellent, knowledgeable Dr. who truly treats the patient, not the test. My mom had a staghorn kidney stone discovered as an incidental finding during a CT while she was an inpatient at Wake Med Cary. Her PCP referred us to Dr Lisson for evaluation. Seeing as she had recently had a near death experience, he suggested we watch and wait....unless of course she developed overt symptoms, which he discussed with us in detail. We have happily watched and waited for 3 years :)

I can not say enough good things about our experience with Dr Lisson and everyone who works in his office for my moms kidney stone surgeries as she had to have 2 of them within a short amount of time as both kidneys had stones in them and one was HUGE. He is great with the patient, he thinks about options before he comes In to talk with you and he guides you on your best options. For my mom to feel comfortable with him and trust him I knew we had the right man and I am happy to say we did.

I had a vasectomy yesterday, everyone was very nice and the procedure was fast and painless. As I was leaving the office I started to feel very flush and unstable so I asked for help from the front desk. It was seconds and the staff was out front to help. They assisted me in getting back to a room to lay down and got me recovered quickly with water. They were very patient, caring and helpful. Dr. Lisson was easy to talk to and provided excellent communication.

Dr. Lisson, is wonderful. A true professional, he tells it to you "straight" but in such a caring way...love him. He treats you as if you are his own family member he is talking too. My experience has been great with Dr. Lisson. Most important he listens and spends as much time with you as needed, does not rush you out the door.

Dr.Lisson is one of the best doctors I have visited. He is very knowledgeable and explains treatment details in a way that one can easily understand. He took the time to answer all my questions and cleared all my doubts. I had no hesitation going into the Operation Theater under his care. Also, his staff members are very courteous and helpful. Always greeting you with a warm smile and ready to assist. My family and I thank Dr.Lisson and his staff in our best words.

My first urologist was a complete nightmare. He was ready to cut into my kidney to remove my kidney stone. I saw Dr. Lisson as a second opinion. He was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He explained everything in detail and eased my anxiety. He was able to remove my kidney stone without cutting into my kidney and was great about making sure things were done right. I would recommend him a thousand times over to anyone who may need to see a urologist!!!

Dr. Lisson was very professional and it was apparent that his knowledge of Urology was top drawer. We had nothing but praise and gratitude for him during my Dad's stay at Wake Med and follow up visits at his Cary office. He has been up front with everything, explained the diagnosis, the pros and cons of treatments and left final decision up to us. Thanks again Dr. Lisson!!!! I AM COMPLETING THE SURVEY FOR MY DAD.
