Let me first say I wrestled with writing this and decided to share my experience. I went to the Richmond office and I never experienced such unprofessionalism in a doctor’s office. I was recommended to see an infectious disease doctor by my nurse as well as referred by my PCP. Whenever I would go to infectious disease, the doctor enters and asks how are you feeling... I would respond; however, my responses aren't taken into consideration. Instead, the doctor would say everything looks good; meanwhile, I went home to face the same dilemma the point that I videoed what I had been experiencing. Yet, she continues to say "everything looks good which is concerning. I felt like my concerns fell on deaf ears. I was just in the office two days and couldn’t believe what I was hearing… The receptionist and the nurse are talking negatively about the patients. The nurse said “and this one I don’t care if I never see him again”. She explained to the nurse what happened between her and the patient. Then the receptionist brought my name up and they began talking about me. Maybe I should tell them that their walls are paper thin and we (the patients) can hear them talking about us or maybe I should tell the receptionist when she closes her window, we can still hear them talking about us (the patients). It was the same nurse that served me and I addressed what she and the receptionist were saying. She turned out to be a nice lady who was having a bad day but that still doesn’t take away that the conversation took place in the hall for all to hear. I addressed my concern with the doctor that you said it looks good; however, it doesn’t feel good and the pain still persists, she then made a sly remark well I can’t schedule you an appointment when the flare up is about to occur. Each time I would share with the doctor what I am experiencing she would say I understand but… Also, after being seen by the doctor she walks out with the nurse #2 (note taker). Usually someone comes in and puts on my dressing this time they didn’t. Nurse #2 opens the door and says you can get dress before I can get my words out, she closes the door. So, I reached out to the receptionist to ask for gauze and a 4x4 adhesive bandage to prevent my skin from rubbing and leakage from getting on my clothing, she said I would have to wait on a nurse to come out of the room with one of the other patients so I waited. Finally, nurse #2 came after the receptionist told her what I was requesting (remember thin walls). She told me to get dress and I asked if I can have a piece of gauze to tape on and 4x4 adhesive bandage. She acted as if she didn’t know what a 4x4 adhesive bandage was… She needed more clarification. I told her I didn’t want any rubbing and leakage on my clothing. She told me she had to get an order from the doctor to get me a piece of gauze and the bandage. Then she said that it is too expensive. Gauze? Bandage? Really? I said I will ask her (meaning the doctor). That’s when she went outside of my room in the hallway with an attitude and started expressing her frustration concerning me in front of the receptionist, nurse#1, doctor… Yes, in front of the doctor… How does she feel so comfortable saying anything negative or displaying any kind of attitude with the patient in front of the doctor? Then she says Now, she refuses to put her clothes on until I give her a band aid. That’s when I opened the room door (clothed) and clarify that I did not refuse to put on my clothes that I asked for gauze and 4x4 adhesive bandage and you said it was too expensive and you would need to get an order from the doctor. That’s when she gave me the gauze and 4x4 adhesive bandage. So, to recap, I did not get the closure that I needed in regards to what’s going on with my body from infectious disease, I would not recommend this doctor to anyone, my problem still isn’t resolved, and the doctor didn’t listen to my concerns and for the record it does not look good nor does it feel good. Health is something that is vitally important. As for me I need a doctor that’s going to get to the root cause of my issue. So that I can be properly treated.
