If only I had gone to Dr Khurana first. Dr K performed my 7th back surgery which fused a new segment. He also corrected the alignment of a lower vertebra which cause mid-alignment of my spine. At the time of my surgery, I could not use my right leg. After surgery and months of rehab I can walk with a normal gait. Thanks cannot convey how grateful I am to be his patient.

Very satisfied
Dr. Khurana was caring and attentive. He spent a lot of time with me reviewing my MRI's and explaining options. I felt well taken care of, and like I could trust him. Highly recommend.

I had surgery in November 2023. This was my first surgery with Dr Khurana after 4 previous surgeries with other spinal surgeons. Nothing compares to my experience with him. All my previous surgeries were upsetting, very stressful and all around unpleasant.Dr Khurana exudes confidence without an ounce of arrogance. He is compassionate, listens to you intently while suggesting healthy alternatives during recovery. Dr Khurana has the most calming presence. I never for a moment, felt rushed or as tho I was taking too much of his time. No doubt, hearing that you need surgery is always upsetting yet Dr Khurana and his staff took away any fears I had. He is a brilliant physician, a true gentleman with such lovely bedside manner.

The Best!
I had a number of consultations with many surgeons when I was diagnosed with C1-C7 fully collapsed discs. Most were unable to deal with a diagnosis like the one I had. Some just told me to take more painkillers and other drugs at the age of 67. I was a very productive and active person my whole life and was looking forward to an active retirement. After a complete MRI study, Dr. Khurana recommended two surgeries to Insert 4 new discs into my neck C3-C7. I asked if he could do it in one surgery? He said: He would. That was six years ago & my neck has been great. Last Sept 23, 2023 I was camping and taking a shower in the campgrounds handicap shower, slipped on it's vinyl floor and broke my neck at C7-T1. The previous fusion most likely saved my neck from a much worse injury. He said surgery was textbook indicated & joint was stable. I asked if I could try and fuse on my own using a neck brace 24-7. He listens and I'm completely healed as of May 9th 2024. He's the Best.

Excellent!
Had L5-S1 disc replaced at the surgery center downstairs from the office Feb 2024. Every part of the process exceeded my expectations. I’m 62, lifetime of skiing and surfing. PT, ice and over-the-counter anti-inflammatories had been keeping my sciatica pain manageable but then it didn’t. Pain all the way down my left leg to my foot, some numbness on the bottom of my foot. MRI showed several bulging disc, but the bottom one was really pinching the nerve the most. I got several opinions ranging from decompression to fusion but chose total disc replacement. The pain was gone as soon as I woke up from the surgery. A couple days of pain from the 3 inch cut below my belly button, but after that went straight back to my computer job, no residual pain anywhere! I went back to PT after two weeks, back to surfing at 10 weeks, back to skiing at 12 weeks. Life is good!

An Exceptional Surgeon
I have been seeing Dr. Khurana for over eight years. I am an eighty year old male. During that time he has performed four spine surgeries on me. Two decompressions and two fusions. Each time he has completely eliminated my pain. I just had my six week “wound check” for the last fusion today and I have no pain whatsoever. I was off of all pain meds in less than ten days after surgery. His staff is excellent in regards to making my appointments and coordinating the arrangements with the hospital (Cedars Marina Del Rey…which was terrific), my pharmacy and getting my back brace and ice machine. And also arranging a home health nurse and home physical therapist. Dr. Khurana is a incredibly skilled surgeon and I highly recommend him.

He listens!
I am a 26 year old woman who is in recovery from a two level artificial disc replacement surgery. Thanks to Dr. Khurana and his staff, I am finally able to plan my life post back pain. Prior to seeing Dr. Khurana, I saw five different doctors in which I was told my MRI did not look “that bad” and that I was just getting older. Unlike others, Dr. Khurana believed me and my pain. He affirmed that it was not normal for a 26 year old to have debilitating back pain. Shortly after working with him, it became clear that I required two lower lumbar disk replacements. Dr. Khurana and his staff did a great job of teaching me about this procedure, helping me with insurance hoops and preparing for medical leave. I can’t recommend Dr. Khurana’s office for back pain enough, especially if you are not being listened to by other doctors. Dr. Khurana will believe you and you will get better.

Dr. Khurana is incredible. I had a C6-C7 disc herniation which was causing nonstop, blinding pain. He easily diagnosed it and was able to schedule me for surgery within a week. Great bedside manner, great follow-up, responsive staff. Could not recommend more highly.

Dr. Khurana was a genius. He discovered my problem immediately and I was treated very quickly. There was extensive spine surgery required and I was told by two other doctors that I needed a hip replacement. NOT TRUE....I feel that I was fortunate to have an appointment with S. Khurana and he knew the problem without any question. Thank you DOCTOR KHURANA. My trust was greatly rewarded.

The best spine surgeon in the business IMO. He's recognized as a Super Doctor for a reason. Important training you want to look for in a spine surgeon doing fusions, which Dr Khurana has, is a fellowship in spine reconstruction because the doctor is removing certain parts of your spine and putting it back together with implants like a car engine that's taken apart and put back together. I've had several surgeries with Dr Khurana... 2019: L4L5/L5S1 fusion, instrumentation, and decompression and 2020: L4L5/L5S1 hardware removal from the 2019 fusion and C5C6 disc replacement. For my neck, I had radiating pain/ongoing tingling down both arms which was exacerbated even from carrying groceries and severe chronic pain in the lower back due to having very little disc material left and couldn't sit long. After the 2019 fusion, I was walking the next morning as soon as I was allowed and my neck disc replacement was a complete success getting rid of the pain down both arms. Dr Khurana is efficien

This review is long over due but this man literally changed my life. I had C6/C7 disc fusion surgery in 2017 and have had zero issues with neck pain since that time. I run 15-20 miles a week and lift weights and despite being a few years older, I am now stronger and in better shape now than before my surgery. I had zero pain post surgery and was immediately better and not hindered by neck pain. Back and neck surgery is by definition a hit or miss event for some people, but I literally do not believe it is possible to be in any better hands than you are with Dr. Khurana.

Dr khurana is evidently a brilliant surgeon but you can’t see him! You only see his assistant! In my case he totally dropped the ball post-surgery and when the problem recurred, he just recommended more surgery! I am 89 and decided no more surgeries! I would never go to khurana again.

Obviously, Dr Khurana is a busy Dr. He said I needed surgery o my neck. I should have just agreed with him, right there and then but I had o get a 2nd opinion which my primary requested. To find out what Dr Khurana already told me. I wasted so much time because Dr Khurana was ready then to give me surgery and my 2nd opinion took a couple month to get.

After 8 years of Anterior Fusion of L4-L5 due to Spondylolisthesis, my surgery is still doing well and still playing basketball and cycling. I never had any serious pain nor major relapse. His experience and technical expertise is impeccable and his bed side manner is outstanding. He is genuinely concern about his patient to a point where he still remembers some personal details of the patient's family after so many years.

I had my second microdiscectomy (both in 2017) in October of 217 and I would highly recommend Dr. Khurana to anyone that is in a situation where back surgery is necessary. I actually live in Texas so I had to fly to Marina Del Ray for the surgery.....arrived Thursday evening and flew back on Sunday afternoon. My previous surgeon had me in "their" rehab facility within a week(nice profit center!), whereas Dr. Khurana recommends no rehab other than walking.....the results are quite different.
