Dr. Kim is a fantastic orthopedic surgeon
We went to Dr. Kim for a second opinion. And are very glad we did. Dr. Kim is, a highly skilled surgeon, an excellent communicator, and a very caring person. My wife, age 73, and in poor physical condition because the pain had rendered her very sedentary, had suffered from severe leg and back pain for many years. She had tried injections, chiropractic, Accupuncture, massage, and pt. Nothing worked..After reviewing her MRI and performing a physical exam, Dr. Kim confirmed the primary diagnosis of spinal stenosis, and recommended a laminectomy together with a soft fusion (no rods or screws). He explained everything very thoroughly and clearly. He performed the surgery at MGH. The results are amazing. One month later, after four days recovering in the hospital and two weeks in rehab, my wife is virtually pain free, and walking much better than she was able to do in years. Also, the nurses and staff at MGH were most attentive, competent, and kind. Thank you Dr. Kim and MGH.

Numbness on the right side of my body, Dr. Kim took xray. He felt I felt C3 & C4 (neck) was pressing on a nerve, recommended MRI. He also informed me that I may need an operation (neck area). I had the MRI done, after 10 days had not heard back. I did not realize they had made a follow up appointment for three weeks after MRI?. I called his office and told them I was very concern with what was going on and asked if they had received results of MRI (called 10 days after MRI). They explained Dr. Kim would let me know at my follow up appointment whch was another 12 days away. I told them I need to know what was going as I was not getting better. They explained he was in Boston and not able to speak to me. i received a call from him and he stated " it is hard to explain the MRI, then he told me he did not understand what the MRI meant, I told him he was the doctor and he had the report from the tech, he still could not explain. He told me to see my Primary she may understand it. I did

My 7 year old daughter has been a patient of Dr. Kim for almost 2years now. Dr. Kim has been wonderful with her. He diagnosed her with scoliosis. He has been amazing. He is extremely gentle and fun with my daughter and from day one he put her at ease immediately. Dr. Kim has been professional and very caring with me. My daughter's spine is almost completely straight now. She is still wearing a night brace, but as of yesterday's X-ray she has greatly improved. Thank you Dr.Kim!!!

I walked in to Dr. Kim's office with my MRI. He said, That is a scary MRI and Im surprised you can walk. Two weeks later I had my operation. A day later I was up and walking 100% pain free. His bedside manner is awesome! You will feel comfortable the moment you meet him. He operated on me, my mom and dad and we all did well.

I saw Dr Kim as a second opinion and he read my MRI and immediately scheduled me for surgery. And I could not be any happier with the results. He gave me a pain free way of life back .
