Compassionate and very knowledgeable
This was my first visit. She had reviewed my history and asked questions about my history which is complicated. Very patient and decisive about treatment.

Excellent Rheumatologist
Because of cultural differences, Dr. Yaqub and I did not initially hit it off. She has become one of my most trusted providers, though. She listens to my input, explains diagnoses, and clarifies treatment plans so I understand and can comply. When I got very sick, she was available through her staff to give me a way and plan to care for myself. There is a wait for the initial appointment when one is new, but considering how few rheumatologists Albuquerque has, the wait time was nothing, As an established patient, I can get in sooner.

I found Dr Yaqub to be very compassionate and attentive to my concerns today. Her communication was clear and understandable. She ordered labs and a referral right away. I am happy to have her as part of my care team.

This experience is ONLY regarding Dr Yaqub, not the office staff. We both have had her as our primary care physician. When we are able to actually get in to see her (We have never had less than a 2 month wait for an appointment. When we actually see Yaqub instead of her NP's, her mannerisms, monotone voice, and lack of general interest in anything but weight show that she does not care. We have to make follow up calls to ensure that referals to specialists get sent.
What went well
  • Office environment
  • Staff friendliness
  • Wait times
What could be improved
  • Difficult to schedule appointment
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
  • Appointment was rushed
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions
