Mis-diagnosis lasting over a year
Dr Pereira, Ryan performed Surgery to repair my torn tendon, ankle, heel and rear & mid section of my foot. I was NWB and off my foot for a very long time. I decided to go see a different podiatrist to take care of my foot as Charcot Foot is a very serious foot problem that can lead to partial leg amputation. My second podiatrist informed me that I did not have Charcot Foot!! I was so surprised, so relieved, I felt like I was falling with that news. Two days later I had an appointment with Dr. Pereira and I asked him straight out “Do I have Charcot Foot?” He answered “No” as he was walking away from me. I have never ever heard again from his office. It has been two years since his surgery, and I can hardly walk. My whole life has changed with this disabled foot.

I have been a lifelong podiatry patient, I have had many procedures on my feet for close to 55 years. I found Dr P. after a referral from a former nurse. I consulted with Dr. P for 2 years before deciding to allow him to reconstruct my feet after years of pain and the need to revise older surgeries using new techniques. I am now one year out from my second foot surgery, the results were life changing. The doctor is extremely personable, down to earth and most importantly, takes the time to listen and understand your ailments. His follow-ups are easy and there is barely any wait time in his office. My wife has noticed that I have been able to walk in just my socks or even bare footed, something I felt really uncomfortable doing since my youth. I will continue to see him for all my foot and leg ailments. I HIGHLY recommend Ryan Pereira to anyone needing foot or ankle surgery.

After 6 years of pain from a bad toe and seeing 3 other doctors in Saint Augustine that accomplished absolutely nothing except cause me more pain, I was referred to Dr. Pereira by my Cardiologist. He immediately found the problem with a biopsy and corrected the problem within a week. I only wish I had found him sooner so I would not have been in pain all of those years. All doctors are not created equal. If you have any problems with your feet I would recommend you see him ASAP.

Dr. Pereira proved to be a real life guardian angel. After many years of continuous pain in my heel, to the point I could not walk, and seeing nine different doctors, he was able to give me complete relief via a heel reconstruction. He never doubted he could fix the problem and he did, when others could not. He is very polite and positive and it is a pleasure being his patient. Janice - NSB

My husband suffered for four years with increasing pain and doctors who didn't seem to care. Dr. Pereira promised to find out what was wrong and he did. He ordered tests that quickly found the problem and referred us to the right specialist. For the first time in four years, my husband can walk without pain. Dr. Pereira is the greatest!
