Serious case of Dupuytren’s Contracture
I have been dealing with Dupuytren’s Contracture since around 2010. That’s about the time I got my diagnosis. I have had 2 surgeries, to try to correct the issue, but it slowly came back. Dr. Horn was my last surgeon to work with my DC. My left hand was affected so badly that I was told by 2 other surgeons, that I should consider amputating the left pinky. It took me 2 years to make the decision to remove the finger. DC had affected my left index finger and pinky. I consulted with Dr. Horn, and he agreed that I should have the pinky finger removed. The index finger has no dexterity in it, but it didn’t have to be removed. I had the surgery and yes, it will take some time to get acclimated with a finger removed, but in my case, I had no choice. Dr. Horn listened to my every concern. He did an outstanding job with my surgery. I was a very successful hairdresser for 37 years, and will never be able to continue, because of DC. If ever I need more surgery, Dr. Horn will be my surgeon.
