A great Dr. of Internal Medicine
We had a long time Dr. retire at this same practice. After much research we chose Dr. Maxa 5 years ago. He is wonderful, he listens and he spends a lot of time with us. We apprecaite him.

Fantastic Doctor!
I have been a patient of Dr Maxa for about 12 years. He is an execellent internal medicine doctor. He has been keeping my blood pressure in check when my former doctor did not. His practice is cutting edge and he is very proactive. Most importantly, he is readily accessible and when testing is done, he personally phones soon thereafter with results and recommendations, if any. It is a bonus for me to go to a doctor who clearly knows how to keep himself in shape. I highly recommend Dr. Maxa.

Highly recommend Maxa and his nurses.
Dr. Maxa is the best and I love his staff. I can always count on laughing with his staff and Dr. Maxa always tells me like it is and guides me to a healthier life. I find him easy to talk to even when I have been off with my own health.

Dr. Maxa has been my primary care provider for the past seven or eight years. He's very good at explaining issues in simple language. I am never rushed, in fact I sometimes worry that he's spending too much time given the not very generous insurance payment he gets He and his staff are very competent and helpful.

Dr. Maxa has been my doctor for more than 5 years. He is very knowledgeable. He is also caring, and takes the time during your visit to address all of your questions. He also follows up on matters from prior appointments. He himself is a 5 star. As noted in other reviews, his staff is not nearly as good. I haven't found them to be too bad on responsiveness (not great but not terrible), but they often don't get me the information I've asked for, and I'm not sure they always understand the healthcare aspects of their job. He needs better help.

If you plan to go to the Dr once a year for a physical, this is a great practice. However, if you have other needs, go somewhere else. While Dr Maxa is lovely, his staff is horrible. For the most part, they are rude when you are in the office. But once you leave the office, don't expect to get followup or help of any kind. For a simple prescription refill, it took 9 days to get. 9 days!!!!

Dr. Maxa has been my dr for at least 10. I wouldn't change drs for the world. He has been the best. He has even taken the time on the weekends to call me to check on me. Ive never had a dr to do any of that for me. He genuinely cares. He does change nurses but I'm not there to see the nurses or his staff. I don't even want to see anyone else in his office when he is not there.

DR MAXA IS A WONDEFUL PHYSICIAN, HE LISTENS TO YOU AND DOESN'T RUSH. MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH DR MAXA WAS GREAT AND I WAS THOROUGHLY SURPRISED WHEN HE CALL ME A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER WITH MY LAB RESULTS AND EXPLAINED THE RESULTS TO ME. DR MAXA HAS A GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER. DR MAXA WAS REFERED TO ME BY A CO-WORKER AND NOW BY WORD OF MOUTH HE HAS MORE PATIENTS IN THE OFFICE.

I have been going to Dr. Maxa for many years and have found him to be a very caring doctor. If he does not return a call, it is likely his staff has not given it to him. I understand one of the worst offenders of this is now left the practice, and I am totally delighted. He is personable and thorough and remembers your reasons for coming to see him in the past. My doc for good!

Great Doctor but the Practice is horrible. His Nurse makes Nurse Rachett look like an angel. I have been going to this Doctor for over 5 years and he has gone through 5 nurses since I have been there. The last nurse, Arlene does not return phone calls, wont help you when you call in and never calls in reorders for pharmacies. My pharmacist and myself called four times and after three days finally got it filled. I called the Office Manager to make a complaint and they never called me back.

I have been seeing Dr. Maxa for 5+ years for my health care needs. I have been taking a thyroid medicine, same dose level for years. It had been just over a year &my prescription ran out. Dr. Maxa & his staff declined calling in an extra month prescription until I came in for annual appointment It's now been 3 weeks without me having my thyroid medicine and I'm very fatigued and not feeling well. Dr. Maxa and his staff could care less about you as a patient, just want your $$$, AVOID HIM!!!

Dr. Maxa saw me for complaints of shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, difficulty swallowing, voice changes & rapid weight loss (35+lbs.). After running some tests, he referred me to a neuro, who found nothing neurologically wrong. I came back, he ran one more test, then completely gave up on me. His nurse stopped returning my calls & told me to go to the ER. I did & was diagnosed with a large tumor in my chest and stomach. NHL, stage 3B. Obviously I would NOT recommend him.

I had my serious doubts about Dr Maxa when he missed the fact that my friend had a huge tumor around her heart. But then today I hear that he snaked a parking spot from that same friend at a kids baseball game, and when she said something to him he told her that she should be glad for the extra walk so she could lose some weight. He said this to a former patient, a cancer survivor, and widowed mother of two young boys that go to school with his kid.
