He's the worst doctor ever! Treats you disrespectfully and falsifies your medical record. I was having a mini-stroke and he blamed it on "anxiety" and discharged me home from the ER. With 24 hours, I was back with the same symptoms having a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) ie. mini-stroke. I'm a complicated neurosurgical patient and he essentially performed no work-up or diagnostic studies. He's of Middle Eastern decent, and obviously very chauvinistic towards females. Rather than performing a proper diagnostic workup and admitting me for observation -at the very least- he reprimands and scolds you for being 'non-compliant'. However, I was following my PCPs orders exactly as I was having severe, vacillating blood pressures. More importantly, because he failed to perform a proper work-up and missed that I had a life-threatening neurologic condition that ultimately resulted in me having 6 strokes. He is representative of the Queen's neurosurgery department which is an absolute joke!

I've come into contact with many Doctors and specifically neurologists. Dr Salem not only impressed me with his quiet attitude but his willingness to try everything before considering any kind of surgery. I found him excellent at bedside and he comforted me and my wife in a compassionate way. Go see him...you will not be disappointed. Dan Barretto
