Dr. Ronald Green, MD

I started therapy with Dr Green in 1992 (contrary to poor review here, he was seeing patients long before he was near retirement). He was unfailingly kind, gentle and skilled. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him!

Dr. Green, although sometimes a bit distractible, does more for his patients than any doctor I have ever known. He is not only a fantastic psychiatrist but is a wonderful person. Another review here criticized his age, however in my meetings with him he regularly recalls studies off the top of his head, the date they were published, and their authors, so age is really out of the question. He was the first of eight medical professionals to actually find a depression treatment that worked for me. He is extremely involved with patient care, and sometimes even calls me after hours from home to check up on me. I have never known a single medical professional that cares about their patients as much as Dr. Green does.

At 78 I believe he should be retired. Psychiatry is a whole new game. A demanding profession for those dedicated to its core values. With Dr. Green, the first 38 years of his years he was affiliated with WRJ Veterans Hospital and then as Director of the Residents Program at Geisel but he was engaged in "staff" positions not "line" so he wasn't dealing directly with with patients in a psychotherapeutic setting . He only began dealing directly with patients when he was approx. 63 ( two years before mandatory retirement at DHMC) when Hanover Psychiatric was initiated. And where did he train in psychoanalytic psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and neuropsychiatry before joining Hanover Psychiatric? His curriculum vitae shows no evidence thereof.
