My Dr for 23 yrs and counting….
He takes the time to listen. I’m more than just a number to him. Other doctors have rushed me through like cattle at a stockyard auction. He’s more than just a pill-pusher. He makes referrals for me when he believes it best for my health! He’s been my wife’s Dr since he became a Dr.! Will be mine until he decides to retire!

He ruined my life
For several years, I had high calcium and low Vitamin D. When another physician looked at my lab work, he suspected hyperparathyroidism and suggested Dr Van Bussum run a PTH test. Dr Van Bussum did finally run the test. It was confirmed and I asked to be referred to a surgical endocriologist as surgery is the ONLY cure for this disease. Van Bussum was hesitant but finally did so. Dr Van Bussum also said to me 'I don't usually do anything with high calcium'. Because of my long delay in getting treatment I have permanent disabilities from the disease. I believe he ruined my life by not recognizing I had abnormal lab studies for years.

No sick or emergency visits.
Baptist Health Dr. Vambussem’s office has deteriorated to the point that I need a new primary care. I’ve been seeing R. Todd Crawford for years. Never once had I been told to go to the ER or to urgent care but for the last year and a half or so maybe two years, I have not been able to get in during an illness or during an emergency (I had a broken wrist, staff set my appointment out 10 days!!!). I couldn’t even see Todd because the office was like “oh broken wrist. Cool. Wait 10 days. This was last year. Since then I’ve called multiple times at 8:00 am on the dot to make an appointment for myself or for my children. Again, staff response “oh 104 fever sore throat ears hurt. Cool. Go to urgent care or the ER. We don’t take sick visits. We are all full already. For goodness sake, I call at the moment they open. Who could have possibly filled up all the Appointments in 32 seconds. Now I have a severe ear infection. Yep I had to go to the dang ER because once again NO SICK VISITS

I was dismissed due to my concerns and later found out I had cancer after receiving care at Lexington Clinic. I did not have to see a PA as a patient at Lexington Clinic and felt like I mattered. I would recommend everyone switch to Lexington Clinic as a patient to receive care that is thorough and reliable.

If you like being stereotyped, this is the place for you! I couldn’t believe the way I was treated. Just bare in mind that there are PLENTY more, non judgmental, doctors offices out there. Just remember that!

I set up my new patient appt. arrived 15 min early to the address but it was the multi building campus on Nicholasville rd. Wasn't told which building or office number on the confirmation message so I went to the largest building and searched the directory. Unsuccessful. I then called the office and was informed the correct building, floor and office number which required walking across the campus and wait to use the elevator one person at a time (totally understand this precaution) arrive within 5 min of my appt time and was told that I they needed to reschedule my appt. Found the staff to be verbally kind but their actions and procedures as very disrespectful and unprofessional.

I just called to make a new patient appointment. I need a new GP. They asked me if I'd already had a physical this year. Yes. Your insurance won't cover two physicals in one year, OK. I still need to see the doctor and I'd like to change my GP to Dr. Van Bussum. The office manager was so bothered by this fact for some reason, she told me I'd have to pay out of pocket to see this Doctor. I have insurance. I want to start seeing this Doctor, because I'm unhappy with my other doctor. What is the problem. I was put on hold for over 15 minutes and when someone answered again, whomever had been helping me before didn't save any of my information so I was going to have to go through the whole entire process again. Half an hour on the phone, I was disrespected and essentially run off by the rudeness of the office staff. Guess I'll find another Doctor. Thank you for making that decision for me.

This man is a SAINT.... always cheerful, always attentive, very compassionate. He stabilized my diabetes in short order... He has my severely ill wife on a solid road of health and has turned her around... probably the best doc ever to treat me and my wife. 5 stars!
