Dr. McShane’s staff is a problem
I called for an appointment with Dr. McShane because my foot is broken, can’t walk. Provided a referral. The staff told me the referral needed three codes. They had me going back-and-forth with my PCP and DR. McShane‘s staff for three days. I had my friends running back-and-forth to provide the information needed. Finally, I called my insurance, my insurance got on the line with my PCP and McShane staff. McShanes staff didn’t believe what the insurance was telling her. Finally I said, “do you even have my insurance information”? She said “no” so I gave her my insurance information and she ran it and said “I guess the problem is that I’m listening too much to people around me rather than checking things out for myself.” The staff doesn’t even know their job. I had to do their job for them.” they finally got me an appointment with Dr. McShane, but I was afraid to go to him for fear of what would happen with the staff from there on in. Horrible horrible office staff practices.

My knee still hurts after 1.5 years. My latest Doctor says it is a bad knee replacement, maybe the kneecap is placed a little wrong. Also a nerve seems to have been damaged.

I came in with severe elbow and forearm pain. After xrays showed my bones were ok, Dr McShane correctly diagnosed the problem as ‘Tennis Elbow” (Tendinitis” With a band on my elbow the pain immediately disappeared. The nurse even questioned if I knew if my insurance would pay for the band, because I could pick on up at the drug store much cheaper. At that point I didn’t care so she put it on and I left pain free and happy.

Dr. McShane and his staff treated me terribly. I was being seen for a work injury that was directed by OWCP and not only did they make me wait until all of his patients were seen at the end of his day.I was called “ The IME” never by my name and he barely spent any time examining me, just interrogated me and tried to make me pick up weights that I could not lift. His final report was inept and missing basic facts. Beware of this Dr. when it involves OWCP... he’s one sided and will not even exami

I have been a patient of Dr McShane since 1994. He is an awesome doctor with a great bed side manner. He is knowledgeable, thorough, concerned, compassionate, and listens. He is up to date with the latest technology and offers the best recommendations to his patients. He does not do anything that is not necessary or needed for your treatment. He also tries to work within your means which is a great thing.

I sustained a serious injury to my hand in a car accident. Dr. McShane operated on it for me and returned my hand to full use. Several other surgeons told me there was nothing that could be done. I would recommend him to anyone. Excellent surgeon and a very congenial man.

Went to see Dr. McShane for a second opinion. Waiting room was full. When he finally got to see me, he spent very little time with me. Didn't to any tests or read any of my reports. He cares more about his surfing that his patients. Would not recommend him at all.

Dr. Robert McShane is one of the best Orthopedic doctors. One of the strongest assets he has is that he listens and hears what his patients have to say. Qualities that very few doctors have. I highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for an excellent, knowledge, respective, and competent doctor. Thank you Dr. McShane for your professionalism and friendship.

Doc is one of the best...but...the double booking appointment scheduling practice of this office is truly "over the top". A one hour plus wait time ...or more is routine and almost frustrating enough to make me want to find another Dr... sad to say...because I really trust him.

Dr. McShane is an excellent doctor. He diagnosed my condition from the outset, after a former orthopedic surgeon I had been seeing, didn't. He ordered the specific tests to find the cause of my problem and took care of it for me. He's the best in his field and I wouldn't go to any other. The staff is great, they make you feel comfortable and all have been very courteous.

Dr McShane has been our family orthopedic doctor for over 20 years. We have all been to see him for various medical issues in our bones or joints. He has always been caring, professional and clear in his instructions. Because he is so popular in the medical group, it can take some time to get into see him. The waiting room wait time is far shorter in the mornings. The later in the day that an appointment is scheduled, the longer the wait to see him. We prefer Dr McShane over the other two MD's.

Dr. McShane diagnosed my disabled husband to full duty upon a 10 minute minimal assessment that involved him barely making eye contact. Waited over an hour to even see him. Staff was rude. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. ????
