Questionable billing practices
I visited Dr. Gobezie for shoulder pain in April. He examined and gave his standard cortisone shot. It helped and I had some relief. Then the fun began. I received my bill and noted that my insurance company didn’t cover it. I contacted them and was told he was out of network on the day that I went because he was between network agreements for a couple of days and they should have told me when I got there. They hadn’t. I have now called them 10 times to try to resolve the billing issue. Most of the time they don’t call me back (you can’t directly call the billing manager), and when they do they have no answers and promise to call back by the end of the day. They never do. They have acknowledged that they should have told me, but can’t figure out how to fix the bill. They just keep sending me new bills every month. It is now November and it still isn’t resolved. I am concerned they will send it to collections.

The BEST!
Dr. Gobezie is a Harvard doctor who is an awesome doctor and an awesome human. He listens and explains things thoroughly. I have been told that torn rotator cuff surgery is the worst that you can go through, but NOT with Dr.Gobezie. Some of the procedures that he does, he actually invented. Highly recommend him.

Bicep tenodesis shredded Labrum Frozen Shoulder
I had surgery last July 2021 today I can use my arm without even thinking about it I had a prior surgery and my prior surgeon left me in so much pain, I could not stand it. I could not move my arm upwards Dr. Gobezie read the MRI reports from the prior surgery and the pictures of the 1st surgery. This doctor he knew exactly what was wrong. I am doing so much better and I am so very thankful. 3 prior surgeons would not even try to do this surgery, they all said I needed shoulder replacement. He is an excellent surgeon. I highly recommended him and Christine. Thanks

Not the same
Saw Dr. Gobezie in 2016 for a reverse shoulder replacement. He was the best! Felt like he could walk on water, and my shoulder is perfect. Fast forward to 2022. Same injury as last time but I feel that patient care has changed. I have total confidence in Dr. Gobezie's ability, but I felt rushed and like a number in a line at my appointment and for the results, which consisted of an unpleasant phone call from a PA or secretary or something. Unfortunately, I will be switching doctors for my new surgery. The personal touch and compassion at the office are gone.

Dr. Gobezie is a doctor in name only. The guy is a terrible doctor and I would not recommend him to anyone. I went there with a shoulder issue, he played with my shoulder for 5 minutes, made an incorrect diagnosis, gave me a couple of shots and told me I was going to be fine in 3 days. It turns out that I had a torn rotator cuff and if I had not gone to UH and received an MRI I would never have received the proper treatment. He is making a fortune using great marketing instead of using great doctor skills. I would not waste my time or insurance on a guy like this.

Went to Dr Gobezie with a complete rupture of the bicep tendon. He treated me with cortisone injections. This only served to numb the pain which caused more problems. My pectoral muscle over compensated and then also tore. It was the next Dr who ordered an MRI which told all. Headed for a shoulder replacement. Could’ve been avoided.

Dr. Govezie is absolutely great! Five years ago he repaired my rotator cuff and bicep tendon. The surgery was tough and rehab equally as challenging, however, it was all well worth Dr. G doing the surgery! I have had several orthopedic surgeries (both knees and hands) (not done by Dr. G) and I can not say I have recovered as well as I hoped. But as a result of Dr. G's exceptional skills, I have had NO BAD RESULTS! from the repair of my shoulder. The pain is gone and my motion is 99.9%. I am a senior and can play softball, pickleball, and even throw a baseball again. While I knew he was good, I NEVER expected this kind of result! I would recommend him to all, and I have! Thanks...Doc!

Dr Gobezie did a complete reverse shoulder replacement on my right shoulder. I am 70 years old. The entire process with him and his staff was very smooth and informative. He did the surgery and I went home the same day. The pain block did not wear off for 24 hours and when it did I had very little pain. My use of the shoulder increased as I went through PT, and I am now four months from surgery and have resumed completely the use of my shoulder. I'm a gardener and can dig in the dirt again! I will resume bowling also as soon as the Covid-19 stay at home order is over.

Dr. Gobezie done my reverse shoulder replacement with a Lat transfer in January 2020. I have had a few surgeries in my life being I am 66, but this Doctor is the best. I always check all stats before I pick a surgeon and his was impressive. Not only was the surgery successful, the after care with all the nurses was better than I could have imagined. Would I suggest Dr. Gobezie to anyone? Most definitely! Most importantly, he really seems to care and it shows. It has been 10 weeks now and I have pretty much full range of motion. Doing the exercises every day and it is getting stronger.

Dr. Gobezie is amazing. Very intelligent, wonderful bedside manner, and talented surgeon. He repaired a rotator cuff tear that another surgeon wasn’t sure could be repaired. Dr. Gobezie explained everything and handled post-surgical issues and questions very well. He came highly recommended to me. I drove 3 hours one way to ensure I had the best shoulder surgeon, and he didn’t disappoint.

Dr. Gobezie and his team did a wonderful job on my reverse shoulder replacement. I had minimal pain thanks to an excellent nerve block that last a couple of days. I then minimally used pain medications. After two weeks I was out of the sling and preparing for physical therapy. So far therapy has been great and I am quickly regaining my full range of motion with minimal discomfort while therapists manipulate my arm. I highly recommend Dr. Gobezie and The therapists at Go Ortho; Kelly and Erin have been great.
