Dr. Robert Lurvey, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr Lurvey for a chronic urological condition. I’ve found him to be capable and concerned for my health. I’m surprised by the negative review I just read. His care has been effective, and his approach has been reassuring.

I had been taking tamsulosin for a year under the guidance of Dr Lurvey to treat the symptoms of BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, enlargement of the prostate). I reached out to him to explore alternatives to a lifetime of taking medications for BPH and he went through a number of surgical treatments, finally recommending the Urolift procedure. After testing to make sure that I was a good candidate for this surgery, we set a date and had the procedure about 6 months ago. There was some pain after the procedure for about a week (treated with pain meds) but it was manageable. After about a month, I discontinued taking tamsulosin. Throughout this whole process, Dr Lurvey was very helpful, answering questions I had about the procedure and its aftermath. I no longer have the vexing symptoms of BPH and I don't have to take medications for the condition anymore. I'm very happy with Dr Lurvey's treatment and would recommend him to anyone else suffering from BPH symptoms.

Totally impersonal. Told me my (short) life expectancy TWICE. Inflicted pain with his ultrasound tool. Really terrible experience. Office helper was no better. Avoid this office at all costs.

Fanatastic doctor. Listens to patients concerns and discussed in depth treatment plan. Extremely qualified! Cares about the patient!!

Zero star rating!! Do not recommend this very rough, brutal jerk. If you are a man, you do not, not, want to be this monster's patient!
