Dr. Hopkins gave me all the information necessary and some options to choose from. I did have to wait over half an hour to be seen from my appointment time. The front desk staff was nice but I dunno if I’d come back here.

Pleasant and Professional
I see Dr Hopkins yearly for a routine dermatological exam. He and the staff are always pleasant and professional. He listens to my concerns and performs a complete exam. There are usually a few things to freeze. It doesn’t take long and always minimal wait time, which I appreciate.

Excellent treatment!
Dr. Hopkins was extremely thorough, very gracious, and communicated easily and well. He performed my annual full body check for skin cancer, and I felt very confident that he had done the best review I’ve ever had.

Saw Dr Hopkins for sudden female alopecia, itching scalp. He took very little time to talk to me about options for treatment, and only briefly looked at my scalp before ordered a simple blood panel to measure iron/vitamin d. I specifically asked if I could be screened for any hormonal issues that could be causing hair loss, but he said that testing hormones is difficult (not accurate) and did not include any in the ordered tests. My results had slightly low iron/vitamin D. The only follow up for treatment instructions were to take iron & vit d (supplements I was already taking & told him as much) and talk to my PCP. As I'm new in town it took me months to get in with a good PCP, and when I did she told me to go see a dermatologist(!), and that not getting proper care quickly could result in permanent hair loss(!!!). She also ordered the proper blood panels and confirmed that I have androgen issues. I feel frustrated that my concerns were ignored and that I wasted an appointment.

I just went in for my regular bi-annual check-up. Good to see Dr. Hopkins, as always. Checked me all over, burned off a few concerned spots, as usual. We discussed a treatment for my scalp. All was great. He has detected 6 different cancer spots over the time I've been seeing him, one even needed a Mohs procedure done by Dr. Lee. Excellent clinic, highly recommend Dr. Hopkins.

Dr Hopkins listened very well to my concerns over the treatment options that he presented and patiently allowed me to come to my own conclusions about what I would choose. He presented the options clearly and even suggested that if I would prefer, he could decide for me. Excellent outcome in the timeline that he laid out. I recommend Dr. Hopkins wholeheartedly.

My review is strictly on the care received and is not a reflection of the front desk or other staff that works here. After seeing Dr. Hopkins on my initial visit, which was about five minutes, I was frustrated.I’d been experiencing swelling under my eyes with no history of allergies. He didn't ask a single personal question about my medical history. After explaining my symptoms to him and showing him pictures he didn't even ask to look at my face and told me to come back in when the symptoms are present so he can diagnose me.When I do come back in I have to offer to pull my mask down for him to look and he says 'it's hard to put you in a box because your symptoms aren't clear to be just one thing.'Now I'm being billed twice even though I came back in per his instructions and the first visit was hardly worth $190.00. I’m updating this as treatment seems to be working but I feel like I shouldn’t have to pay for 2 visits when I wouldn’t have had to come back if he helped me the first time

Dr. Hopkins prescribed an ointment to replace the ineffectual ones my previous dermatologists had me use for decades for atopic dermatitis. It made a huge difference. Also, the follow-up appointment summary I received was very helpful.

I am very pleased with Dr. Hopkins' treatment of my basal cell carcinoma. He asked to schedule a followup in 6 months. What I was not pleased with is your office policy of calling out patients by their first name. The young woman who called me doesn't know me, nor I her. She's young enough to be my great granddaughter, all the more reason to show some respect to older patients. In my Mexican culture it is highly disrespectful for staff to address patients by their first names. I suggest that you have an office policy whereby you ask patients how they wish to be addressed. I have seen doctors where this is an option and I highly recommend it for your practice.

Dr. Hopkins was extremely professional, and he diagnosed the problem. I had been to another dermatologist before who was unable to fix the problem after two visits, but (so far) it looks like Dr. Hopkins fixed it in one. I like the office too; Portland Dermatology Clinic only has doctors, no physician assistants, so you always get to see a doctor, and you always get the doctor of your choice. I highly recommend Dr. Hopkins.

I seem to have a very hard to diagnosis skin issue that I have been trying to figure out the cause for years. Although Dr. Hopkins has not be able to help yet with my situation I feel he listens well, answers my questions and is trying to help my situation. The office is very nice in appearance and the staff is kind. They seem to run on time because I never have to wait long for my appointment.
