Dr. Ramon A. Franco is an outstanding doctor, a rare commodity in the medical field. He is very knowledgeable and has very pleasant while discussing my issues during the entire visit. Just by hearing my symptom he already knew what health issue I have with my larynx. After his careful and through examination with laryngoscope he confirmed his diagnosis. He recommended to me the 1st step cure which I appreciated very much, because he did not rush to anything expansive and unnecessary. I was very impressed by this doctor. I wish we have more doctors like Dr. Ramon A. Franco.

This man should NOT be practicing medicine! He mistakenly diagnosed cancer in my epiglottis based only from his visual inspection, no imaging, no biopsies prior to his "surgery". He then irreparably destroyed my epiglottis, (the flap in your throat that keeps everything you swallow from entering the windpipe) and ended forever my ability to swallow normally! Against my request prior to surgery, he chopped out half of the epiglottis, THEN took the biopsies that was the intended purpose of the surgery! The half epiglottis, and the 8 biopsies taken afterwards all tested negative for cancer. He may have good technical skills, but his judgement is horrible, and then lied repeatedly about the results and denied access to the pathology report for my first 3 requests. Terrible doctor, and terrible system in Mass that gives a "bubble" of protection for bad doctors with the "malpractice tribunal" presenting a substantial cost to an attorney, and needing another doctor's condemnation to proceed.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Franco’s for almost 20 years! He is not only an expert in his field with knowledge beyond my wildest comprehension, he is also patient, kind, and respectful. I always feel comfortable, seen, heard, and valued as both a person and a patient. He always takes time and never rushes through an appointment or makes me feel rushed! Mass Eye & Ear is privileged to have him on staff. I could not speak of or recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Franco is just an extraordinary doctor. I had searched for the answer for my throat issue for 2 years and met with 4 different doctors.
Dr. Franco properly diagnosed me in the first 10 minutes of my visit. He is warm and friendly and exceptionally experienced. He demonstrated that in his explanation of my issue.
I have had 2 day surgeries with him on my vocal chords. Which was very scary to do. Not only did he put me at ease. But the second time was even a better experience than the first. After having speech issues for 2 years. I am finally getting my voice back and the pain is going away. I could not be more pleased and I am so happy that we connected.
If you are looking for a great laryngologist , look no further for there are not many out there who could surpass his care and friendly demeanor.
