Wow, best to avoid this practice...
I've been to the Algonquin office a few times for appointments and was given a prescription by them. They said they are required to see me every 90 days to get blood work in order to have my prescription refilled. The new practice I have made an appointment with has said this is patently untrue. A couple of blood draws at first to confirm the dose, then once per year after that. Patel's office also told me they couldn't send in a prescription to the Rx until 3 days prior to me running out of pills (even though I have 5 left now and was able to pick up a partial refill today--but, unfortunately, the office made an error and miscounted days so I will be short by at least 9 days). That means another long wait on hold with the office to get the prescription sent over, then a long wait at the Rx counter to pick it up. This practice seems to be milking the system for all the visits they can bill for by having their patients come in frequently.Best to avoid Patel and Suburban Medical.

They told me my insurance was accepted before the appointment. I have a knee injury and had to limp my way to the front desk before they brusquely turned me away and said my insurance won't work. Don't waste your time

I went to my second appointment in 5 days. I had a major back surgery a week ago and they refused any type of help with pain. Dr Raj recruits patients then you don't see him. I've seen 5 different providers. His employee Maria Hussein is the person to watch for . Don't see her.

Awful experience from beginning to end
The only reason we went to see this doctor was because another doctor told us to. First, the office is very outdated. Outlet covers missing, peeling paint on the walls, etc. Second, he was 45 minutes late for our appointment. When he came in, he didn't apologize and had terrible bedside manner. He ordered a test for my husband, which he had done 4 days later. The results were immediately uploaded into his online account. However, we needed Dr. Patel to explain them to us. It took 5 phone calls, and 5 days to finally get someone to help us in the office and that was only because I said I was getting a lawyer and filing a formal complaint. The phone people kept saying "a doctor is reviewing them now and will call you in 5 min." I come to find out, there was no doctor even there nor was there an office manager. They just kept lying to me. The place is run by kids, who are nice enough, but the whole office is dysfunctional and unprofessional. I will never use amita health or this doctor.

This so called doctor should have his license revoked!!! Prescribing stimulants to young people without any reason or any consideration! I had no clue why my son came home hallucinating until I found out later what he was taking. Office is as bad as him, very rude they should go out of business!!! I would not give even one star!!!

This was the worse Dr. visit of my life and I am 52 years old. It was my first visit at this office. I was there as a new patient for an annual exam. Raj came into my private room and just set at the desk typing on the laptop. He asked me why I was visiting. When I explained he said ok they would take some blood. He never came within 10 feet of me. I think he looked up at me twice. I had the lab work done and no one from the office ever called with the results. I have been taking a certain medication for 10 years and Raj sent in the order for meds but no refills. This isn't a controlled substance. It is so I won't spread herpes. Oh well after two calls of trying to get refills I had a herpes outbreak that I am dealing with now. I paid CVS out of pocket to give me 10 pills so I can get some relief until I see a new doctor next week. Also since Raj doesn't care about my health and wellbeing, I asked the office to mail me my lab results. damn I am out of space. GET OUT!

I lost my voice and i had difficulty breathing.A young woman checked my breath through my jacket and she said my chest is clear, ears and throat too. She was totally not profesional, kind of rude. She prescribed antibiotic. I asked if she can check if i maybe have bacteria?! She said-noooo we dont do that... What?!!I didnt see any dr I guess she was his nurse?
