Dr. Agarwal is great. I'm pretty bossy with my doctors and he took my concerns and preferences seriously and accounted for them in my treatment. He was careful to explain my procedure to me throughout and was very considerate of my comfort. I found him perfectly pleasant, efficient and professional but not cold or short with me in the slightest.

Not Returning
Visit was short and felt like he was not in a great mood. Barely provided any direction as to what to expect when checking sensitive areas. Didn’t give any warning when moving clothing to get a better visual of potential problem areas. Was looking at places I didn’t even say were an issue. Didn’t have good bedside manner and will not be back. Not all doctors need to have small talk and a cheery demeanor but at least explain better to your patients what your doing to make them more comfortable.

Perfect doctor unless you need a lot of small talk about the weather and your vacation. Dr. Agarwal is professional and knowledgeable, and he doesn't waste the precious little time physicians are alloted.

Good work bad personality
I was at my 10:45am appointment this morning with him. Skincare routine is doing well&got an updated one now. The facial expressions, comments&etc from him are unprofessional. Doctors are supposed to be nice&friendly. Second appointment I had with him now&personality is still an issue.

Dr. Agarwal worked closely with me for months to find relief for itching associated with Grover's Disease, a rare and difficult skin malady. He was always patient, always available. I'm so grateful for his efforts, which gave me my life back.

Poor care
I wish I would’ve checked these reviews before booking with him. I felt disrespected by him during my appointment and it was clear to me he had no concern for making me feel comfortable and safe. I love my other dermatologist at DAV Dr. Woodley. I will not be seeing Dr. Agarwal again.

I've been a patient to Dr. Agarwal for several years. I have a great patient- doctor relationship with him. He takes time to talk, answer questions and conduct preventive proceedures. The first few appointments.. well i was not sure, he seemed very quite, which I think many misinterpert that he's being dismissive and unengaged. I truely believe this is attributted to his quite nature. I feel very comfortable discusssing concerns and options with Dr. A and I do feel he has and acts in my best interest.

Horrible first (and final) visit. So fast. He spoke only to his assistant who was taking notes and barely spoke directly to me. Insisted on taking a biopsy of section of skin that had been unremarkable for a decade and was not presenting any issues. Both he and assistant (nurse?) exited the visit without mentioning that it was complete... because it wasn't... I had to go searching for the doctor and request that he come back to the room to remove a small wart -- the only issue I had presented to him. The receptionist initially told me that he had already moved on to the next patient and that I would have to reschedule! By the time I got to my car in the parking lot, I received a call from the receptionist saying the the doctor could squeeze me in really fast, which he did. Really fast. Took really bad aim at my tiny wart. Extremely impersonal. I would never recommend this doctor.

I agree with the other reviewers... I was honestly confused because as soon as he walked in, he asked with an annoyed tone "so what's the problem?" and rolled his eyes. That rubbed me the wrong way but I just thought he was maybe super stressed that day. He was extremely brief, I felt very rushed. I asked him some questions (he was polite enough to ask if I had any), which he answered abruptly like I was taking up his time. But I do respect that he seemed open to me asking questions. But maybe it was just to get me to leave sooner. Mad I spent $50 for literally 10 minutes. He also gave me some verifiably incorrect information. I know google has a slew of misinformation out there, but I had my friend who is a biostatician review research studies and confirmed that his answers were largely baseless, narrow minded, or outdated. Anyways, his demeanor made me anxious and prompted me to forget a lot of the things I wanted to address.

Dr Argawal was very thorough in his exam and took time to answer my questions and explain his suggested treatments. There was a short wait time and his nurse was also pleasant and helpful. All in all, a good experience.

I have seen Dr. Agarwal several times over the past few years to do my annual skin exams for pre-cancer growths. He's fairly quiet and not overly outgoing but he really seems to know his stuff and is VERY thorough on the skin exams. I plan to follow him to his new practice in RVA.

Acts as though you are imposing on him and taking up his time with trivial questions. A few things, he just answered "I wouldn't worry about it". But no explanation and if you ask about something, obviously you would like an answer.

have been to see this doctor three or four times in the last few years. I had put hair dye on my head and it caused blisters that I popped and then turned into scabs. Dr. Agarwal says these blisters and scabs came from my laying in the sun over 25 years ago. I am a Christian and would never come and tell a doctor A lie. Saw a new dermatologist today and the first thing he asked was how I got the chemical burns on my scalp. Agarwal very cold not knowledgeable

He had a complete flat affect. Was cold and borderline rude. Was there to have a skin check and have a mole biopsy. When you're naked under a gown, and being uncovered and scanned, having someone make you feel like stinking road kill instead of a vulnerable living human is no fun. He checked my face, and then told me nothing. And when I asked, WAS rude, as if it was inconvenient to tell me the extent of sun damage I had. Zero interest of EVER seeing this doctor again. Just, no.

I have found Dr. Agarwal very helpful. He took initiative to find out why I continue to break out in hives as opposed to sending me elsewhere. I highly recommend. I have read other comments and pose this question. Would you rather have a doctor that is serious and works hard to find out what's going on and willing to treat you or a doctor that smiles all the time and does nothing to help you? I am telling you, this doctor is good at his practice. I highly recommend. He gets 5 stars.
